Ok, a little speculation and guessing here since we don't have a service manual yet.  My 1125r has close to 300 miles on it, and I have experienced the lower RPM jerkyness and occasional hesitation. I was on the XB thread and read about this procedure someone posted from the '08 XB manual: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=32777&post=1099781#POST1099781 I figured it couldn't hurt, so I performed the procedure on my 1125r and it seems to have a noticeable improvement. No hesitation, seems crisper and more responsive. This is purely speculation on my part that this procedure can be applied to calibrate the throttle position on an 1125r. It could be my imagination, or wishful thinking, but my butt and brain tell me it seems to be running better. I hope that G$*@^&$#d damn service manual is finished soon - the long wait on an all ready released product is ridiculous. | ||

Hey XB9 I did this and got .2 volts at idle position and .90 on fully wide open, did you go into dio mode to see what you got, and can you to see if they are the same as mine is. Mike | ||

I'll check after work. The Diag mode is giving you the TPS voltage readout which is fine - it is what it is and no more. That will not tell you if the ECM is in sync with the TPS. If the procedure does apply to the 1125r, by pausing at full close and WOT for a second and repeating it threee times the ECM will recognize this as calibration time and will use the TPS voltage values (closed and WOT) to calibrate itself so it knows what full close and WOT TPS values are. The TPS voltage values may vary slightly from bike to bike and with wear - that's the reason for the calibration procedure (I'm speculating). (Message edited by xb9 on April 03, 2008) | ||

Alright, just ran the diag mode and found TPS to be 2% closed and 79% @ WOT. Is this normal on everyones? Tried the reset listed previously in thread with no results. I wanna get a baseline of a few TPS readings to verify a problem. | ||

Vincent I did it I got 90 and then after doing the reset I got 80 85, but XB9 said 100 and this sound right but I have no idea what it all means. Mike | ||

Sounds like you guys might not be getting the full travel of the throttle. I'd make sure the front end is not cocked and pointing straight ahead when checking, and that you do not have excessive play in the throttle cables. If you still don't get the full travel, pull the air box so you can look at the throttle linkage and see if is hitting the WOT stop. (Message edited by xb9 on April 04, 2008) | ||

Mine was .20 closed and 100.0 for WOT. This was on Serial 142. Anyone know what the correct values are? | ||

Bearly I think 2 to 100 is correct, I am going to take my filter off and see if they are opening up all the way, I will post if I find anything that will get the bike to 100. Mike | ||

I don't think a guess is enough for me to change anything. It might be that 99 is correct wot. Maybe 1.0 instead of .20 is correct for the closed position. I don't think I could see 1.5° by looking at the butterflies? So I guess no one KNOWS what the correct values are? Oh yes, it's interesting to look at the values on the display. Pretty cool that one can call that up at all,right on the bike. But to go back to XB9's original post about having the stumble at low RPM's with values that he had on his observation. I just checked mine, 2 and 100 were the values. I dont remember closed V but wot was 3.9. Mine runs great! | ||

I played with the throttle cables last night and no matter what I did the TPS said 2% closed and 100% WOT. I didn't check the voltages. Z | ||

I was only getting 85 and could see they would not open fully so I could push with my finger and they felt like they were sticking at one point, so I lubed were I could and them worked them and now getting from 2 to 100, the tps reset did not seem to work, but I got them working now. Mike | ||

OK just figured out what the problem was, when I put the filter housing on it again would not open fully, so I pulled on the breather hose to bring it up into the filter housing and now is going to 100 again, so if you are having a problem with the throttle not going to 100 try pulling up your breather hose. Mike | ||

I was checking it in diognostic mode and seemed to work, so I was just curios and have done both but in diognostic mode seemed to work to and I like it when I can see results or what is going on. Mike | ||
