This is an interesting thread.

My max trip miles have been limited from Clearwater to North Orlando Florida on five different occasions. About two hours with stops every thirty minutes due to my hands completely going knumb all the way up into my upper arms.

I first thought it was from my previous bike accidents but that only affected my right side so now looking deeper for a little help.

I am going to try heavy bar ends and or fill the hollow section of the tubes with lead shot...as recommended by what seemed a good authority. I only hate to add the weight though...but the tradeoff if it works will be worth it.

I am five eight and 160 pounds. The windshield does need to be higher by about 2-3 inches for me in normal upright position. Just at the mid to upper section. I hope that the aftermarket has one soon...the wind is not too bad but the rain is a different story.

The stock seat and pegs are fine for me. No problems there but I do like the look of the corbin on an 11 here in a different thread...which I'm sure to throw coin at soon.

My work is almost done after seven long months back here in Florida. I purchased my 11 for my time here and to ride home to Central Ohio come spring and warmer weather. Six more weeks and I'll be taking that 1100 mile trip with a pit stop in Robbinsville...mileage and time off the record...just gotta do it. This bike's handling deserves it. WILL post pics if I make it home!

Keep the updates coming as I really feel this can be the ultimate "pro" touring sport bike to date. If we can just get those vibs down a bit at the bars, I'd be totally unavailable here and on the cell! : ) Ride safe

there is a product called the bar snake and suppose to reduce vibrations,

also the throttlemeister is weighted and will dampen vibrations,

I am 5'11" and have had problems on other bike with my hand going numb but this bike is not that bad,

I am getting the throttlemeister for its friction throttle lock and weight.

Thanks Mike! I found bar snakes website in one search and am going to try it. The customers state up to 70% reduction in vibs...and it has gotta be lighter than lead! : )

Thanks again, Bagger!

Glad to help Slypiranna.

I might try them also,

I have seen helmet locks that go on the handlebar ends and you can lock your helmet there and they have weight to them so would act a dampeners to along with the throttlemeister,

Dark Horse Moto is working on bar ends that act as a friction lock, bar end weight, and slider, with replaceable ends.

I am noticing that Loretta runs a bit rough at this (lack) of elevation.
Does anyone remember how the ECM re-asses the timing and fuel mixture?

I rode my old XB9R yesterday - wow, what a PRIMITIVE beast.
Not having it for four months I forgot how it rode, then I got the 1125.
I don't miss her nearly as much now.

I don't believe this generation of DDFI needs a procedure (3000 rpm for 3 minutes - as in for the XBs).

I believe it continually assesses the situation and deals with it. I run from sea level to 7K feet all the time and it is happy about that. Sure you've not gotten some bad pump gas?

Bad gas is always a possibility this far from home.
It is running noticeably rougher than back at home.
Low speed stumbling is driving me nuts.
At home I have no problem riding at 1500+ rpm, here I have to be above 3000.
Doesn't feel any stronger down here either.

Zack I was told the charging system does not charge below 2000 rpms,

Now I cruise at 4000 rpms and seem to keep me charged,

still got to do a long distance ride to see if that affects charging.

I have no idea about the Corbin seat.
I have the Buell tour seat and it is extremely comfy.
It looks to be thicker than the Corbin.

The stock bars bare pretty comfy too but I have long arms.
I am going to get a set of XBS footpegs to lower my feet an inch ASAP.

Moree to come I'm leave g for home this afternoon.

Hi Zack bad memory again, now I do remember you bike with the buell touring seat,

when on the bike I try to move my hands up and back a little and it does not feel right,

I was going to change my bars position but it seems like it is good just like it is,

Zack are you still on the tires that came with the bike?

it is finally getting warmer up here so I am just starting to do cornering,

I am swapping wheels with my sons and need new tires for my bike to put on his wheels,

Zack how tall are you, my nephew came and picked up his bike yesterday and he has really long arms and liked the position,

maybe if I let him ride my bike he will get addicted and need a fix.

Still on OEM tires with 4500 miles and still have tread left.
I'll be putting some Amber wheels on Loretta when I get back.
Wife says they showed up yesterday.
Loretta should be ready for new rubber by then.

Size- wise, I am 5' 10" and 160#.

Leaving tomorrow morning for home since it rained most of today here.

I hope you have a good ride back Zack,

it is starting to warm up around here next week, every year it is like it always seems to go from winter to summer, and next week is going to be a high sixties,

I want to move to N. Carolina in the mountains for a longer riding season, and better riding,

I hope to move by the time my son gets out of college.

I have started the trip home.
Just finishing coffee and donuts... mmmm
Checked Loretta out stem to stern last night.
Everything was cool until I was moving her and the kickstand folded.
Nothing broke, but the clutch lever curled a bit and I scuffed the fairing and left side pod.
I WILL be making some swingarm sliders when I get home.
Weather looks good and I expect to be home tomorrow evening.

That sucks Zack the pods are cheap at around fifty dollars,

I dropped my bike hitting ice and got the clutch cover, pod, brake lever, and rear foot peg,

it alway sucks the first time we drop are bikes,

I sanded, filled, and painted my pod with satin black plastic paint and like the look so I do not know if I will get a new one,

I am also thinking about taping the frame up and painting it with black satin paint

I replaces both levers with shorty CRG's and love them.

I hated the ulysses kick stand and had dropped the bike a few times because of it so I made some modifications to it, and welded a bigger pad so it would not sink in to the tar,

I think the new kick stand on the 1125R is an improvement over the xb's, I have a license plate box behind the plate that is 1/2" thick and has a pull out kick stand plate and a place to put things in on the other side like a spare twenty,

the kick stand plate is a really good idea for those hot days to protect the bikes kick stand from sinking into the tar and falling over.

Anyway your not the only one to drop there bike and I hope the rest of your trip is better.

Loretta didn't take too much damage.
She got a little scuff on the left pod and on her nose.
They'll both buff out pretty easily.
The only other damage is a slightly curled clutch lever.

The ride today was great.
Loretta really stretched and ran.
I said the other day that she didn't run any better but shortly after that I almost flipped her when I screwed on a handfull.
Still don't understand the stuttering, but I'll be home tomorrow and see how she runs.

I got between 6 - 700 miles today and my butt hurts a little. So does most of the rest of me.

Gonna watch Blade - Trinity and sleep...

Zac sounds like fun. I have read that using the XB pegs will lower it an inch which would make a large difference. By the way what was your gas mileage? I have heard some very surprisingly low numbers on this board.

The trip improved the mpg by one - to 36.
I'm very impressed as a tour bike, strong, smooth and very fast when able.
There were many places along the way that cried out for 120+ speed. No sweat.
It is awful hard to look at the speedo at that speed.

Foot position wasn't comfortable, hope the XBS pegs fix that.
Haven't found bars yet that I don't have to swap left and right hand on the throttle... they work.

All told, best road trip in a long time.
No problems, 2567 miles in 8 days.
46˚ to 91˚, some funny sounds, mild "misbehavior" but no problems.
I even saw some lightning bugs.

Got home last night just before 7pm.
Chilly ride, not really cold but wasn't quite dressed for it.
I started nodding from hypothermia then remembered the slicker I had packed away.
After I added that I was warm again and felt fine.

I got spoiled fast, it was so warm and green in Texas.
It's snowing now.

Time to play in the garage.

Hey Zack I got this five dollar touring handbook, is a small book and has good info,

one of the tips if you get caught in the cold is to grab a old news paper or buy one and use it for insulation.

I had a good ride on the highway yesterday and the bars feel good were they are,

I pull my hands up to were they would be if I get new bars and does not feel right,

I do have a chance to get a more relaxed riding position at a real good price so I am going to get it and if I do not like it I will sell it.

Hope the weather starts getting warmer and they say it might be in the sixties this week.

WOW a heat wave.

I'm jealous Zac, I would've logged in a little more than that had I been able to ride mine out to March Badness. It's crazy you were coming into Tx. while I was tryin' to get out last week. Too bad I could've showed you some great roads around Central Tx.

That's cool B_B.
I was looking for Bluebonnets, not twisties while I was there.
Even rode on a couple of dirt roads.

Mike, I learned about newspapers and double Levis from Easyriders back in the 70s.
