I had an opportunity to test drive the 848. IMHO there is NO compaison to the 1125R. Ok - to be fair - I am still in the break in period on my 1125R and the 848 - well - I wrung it out. For me - the 1125R was the right choice. Note I did the Inside Pass thing on pre-production versions. I found the 1125 to be faster, more forgining (on the track) and way more comfortable.

Bwahahahahaha!
I test rode the 1098, I cannot stop smiling
every time I think about riding it I start to giggle
She is a darling!
So alive, she snarls pops and roars.
Sounds fantastic!
I keep forgetting how playful Ducati's are
I took two test rides on it... each about 12miles...

The brakes are exceptional...
If compared to Buells, the front has the initial bite of the XB brake and the stopping power of the 1125. The rear there is no comparison, you are never left wondering if you are indeed pressing on the pedal or the clutch cover.

The power delivery is silky smooth, and forceful. There is no sensation of the engine response being nervous and iffy (1125), its immediate and brutal. Although I must say that the 848 has a bit better pick up immediately off the line, but this is only in the first 500rpm after take off.

The steering is a bit heavier then the 848, but is also more involved and engaging; one no longer gets the impression that corners are managed via autopilot.

Well the end result...
I have a deposit down

Because I know that I would filthy up the yellow too fast.

Good choice.

It's like choosing a Porsche . . . you look at all those custom colors but when the time comes . . . you know it's going to be Guards Red with the saddle interior.

Kid at work used my discount with Ducati, NA to buy a 748R a couple years ago and he got yellow. It is a spectacular yellow, but nothing says "Real Ducati" like the red.

To my knowledge, the first major race that has pitted 1098's vs. 1125R's vs. RC8's has just finished and guess which one came out on top?

Here's a hint:

I'm assuming that's the fairing Matt (Trojan) is selling:
