i think all dealerships will pay for the first service at 600miles Not likely. You may find a few dealerships or a few people that get customer loyalty perks. But that will be the exception not the rule/ |

I think that Buell has thrown US and USA all a major boner by having this model available for us to even buy...even if over msrp...not to meantion why would anyone sell below that number when many can't get their paws on one? Just a thought... |

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the first service basically an oil change and a once over of the bike? |

You are correct and if I could figure out how to compress photos on a Mac I'd post the service procedure. Basically a 14 point oil and filter change, check fluids and a good once over. |

Think there will be any issues from Buell or with our warranty , for those of us who would normally perform the first service on our own ? or the remainder of the oil changes and " basic " services ? |

Notice on that schedule that the metric intervals are right. The English units are wrong after 12k miles. Go with the Metric units and convert to miles... e.g. 30k Km = 18, 641 miles, NOT 24,800 miles. Zack |

Those darn units will bite you EVERY time!!!! I'm kinda curious why they even have the metric distances on the chart? I'll bet Rotax supplied the intervals based on their "life" testing. I know we supply maint. intervals based on our life testing on our electric motors. They are in the universal "Hours" though ;+} (are there metric hours???) Time2Run Neil S. |

I'm kinda curious why they even have the metric distances on the chart? Probably because they sell most of their bikes in the metric part of the world. I'll bet Rotax supplied the intervals based on their "life" testing. Could be, though I'm sure they would have done it which ever way Buell wanted. Having the intervals at 10,000 KM versus 5000 miles gives a little more range between changes. That was probably considered a plus. |

If I could get the dealer to "throw something" into the deal, I'd want the 12,000 mile valve adjustment! |

Based on the valve configuration used on the 1125R, valve clearance should be a fairly minor exercise compared to any other bucket over shim or Ducati Desmo. 90% of the work will be getting to them. The tech I was talking to was fairly impressed with the servicability of the engine, especially compared to the Vrod. |
