I put my new "Translucent Amber" wheels on the other day. Just in case you were thinking about it, this is what they look like. (in the garage anyway). They do look different in the sun light. We just don't have enough of that lately when I'm home. So here you go.

That looks good Bearly. Another local leven25er around here has taken the bike apart and painted the frame black and put black wheels with HD orange pinstripes on it. That looked good too.

Bearly,

Nice wheels, but I'm looking at that black C6 Vette next to it. Lethal combo. Which is faster?

SnackBar: Oh you mean my Chevy work bench? From what I've read, the Z06 is about the same speed in the 1/4, and is about 20mph faster in the top speed.
Doerman: That sounds like it would look good as well. I think maybe the "Translucent Red" wheels would look good with that one. It was the flip of a coin for me for the "Translucent Red" or the "Translucent Amber" wheels.

I lined my M2 up with my buddies '05 vette,(standard motor and suspension) and I smoked him off the line and up to about 90. We never tried any real high speed stuff. I definitely pulled him rolling on at lower speeds, we tried roll-ons at about 30 to 50 mph.

But that ain't no ZO-6!

And my Cyclone, while it is hotrodded and way quicker than a stock tuber or XB, it ain't no 1125R, either!

Z06 is in the 11's. 1125r will be in the 10's.

No mid life crises here? I owned several vettes when I was younger under 30 and now I am an old man at 50 and only ride, and if I were to describe the 1125R to a car guy I would say it is like the vette, that is what it reminds me of when I ride it, the way it takes the bumps and the six speed. I had a 1990 ZR1 and now they just came out with another one and it is supercharged and think 700 hp. I chose not to own a car and I only like vettes and hot rods, so if I become not able to ride anymore than a vette or hot rod would be in my garage. Mike

I do not own that car now, I did have 3 vettes and the ZR1 was awesome. Now my son and I have three bikes together, and we do not drive cars only bikes, I have the 1125R he has my old ulysses and then a blast for spare transpertation or dirty riding on salt when they salt the streets for snow removal, so it is are crappy bike for what ever we want to do to it. My dream combo too. Well I'm half way there as I haven't had a Vette sense 1990. Maybe again in a few more years
My Black/Amber Firebolt is what I gave up for the 1125. Those wheels look good.

Very cool!
I have a new set of the amber wheels that I had bought for my Firebolt but have not used yet. I am debating on painting the frame of my 1125R a grey color to match the engine and ultimately end up with colors like the old black/amber Firebolt. I wonder how much I have to strip down in order to paint the frame properly.

Bertman if you paint the frame then you can have the frame sliders welded on like the xbrr, that would be a plus, and what I would do if I striped the bike to be painted. I have done some air brush art and not to bad at it, but never painted a bike but I am tempted next year to do a custom paint job and then I will weld the frame sliders on if I do. Mike

Bobup: I just put the stock wheels in the box and put them in the basement. I certainly couldn't put them on the Sunset Orange Lightning Ss.

I only have 530 miles on my new bike due to too much work. One thing I've noticed about this back over the Uly, is that this thing is a cop magnet. They've been following me and staying real close. They change directions at the last minute and follow me. I hope it's not the wheels? Maybe they are bike fans? I was invisible on my Uly.

The rest: I've always had sports cars. I had my midlife crisis 7 years ago. I bought a truck.

I have noticed the same about the cops. The one that ticketed me asked if it was an '08...

I learned along time ago, bright colors attract attention. I avoid bright reds, yellows and florescent blues. However dark reds and blues don't seem to attract much attention. Sometimes it's better to not standout in a crowd.

My white Firebolt didn't attract much LEO attention.
I got pulled over twice, no tickets, just lots of questions and comments on the bike.

So far I've got almost 1600 miles with the valid paper tag in the trunk and a year old tag from the Firebolt on the hanger.

Any color but Ducati Red
