This post may serve to announce any further corrections that may come along- for example, has anyone checked the <torque> for the oil drain plug, etc.? (Hopefully this will be a short thread. I'm surprised, however, that something as obvious and vital as the oil check procedure could be screwed up....) Those of you who have luckily acquired this cool new toy- do tell if you notice anything that aint quite logical/right. |

I found that in order to clear stored lap times, you have to hold the Toggle button and the passing lamp for three seconds. The manual only instructs you to hold the passing lamp. |

Excellent Thread - Let's try to keep it facts/observations and keep the discussion elsewhere. We'll see if we can't get this information linked straight to the proper folks. |

The owners manual states fuel capacity of 5.3 gallons and the website states 5.6. Both states .8 gal reserve capacity. Which is right? Just a matter of double checking. Manual P 36: Note: During aggressive riding or when riding over very rough surfaces, the movement of fuel in the tank may cause the low fuel odometer to activate when the fuel is at a lower level. This sentence does not make sense to me. Is this a caution to me saying that the tank might be lower than I think? |

Doerman, The 5.3 is correct, as we settled in on a number of items the capacity became slightly smaller. Regarding the fuel light, what that is trying to say is if you are riding on bumpy roads with the fuel tank say half empty, the sloshing of fuel may deceive the low fuel countdown to start. So you may think you are onto reserve but actually you will have more in the tank. |

Thanks for clearing it up! And it makes sense in that the low fuel light came on at 4.5 gallons (I filled 1.2 miles after the fuel light came on). Now go have a (Message edited by doerman on December 30, 2007) |

Manual does not indicate what the correct tire pressure is: Page 74 mentions to check tire pressure as part of pre-ride check. On pg 117, there's a brief mention on checking pressure and condition of tires, but no pressure values. I may have missed it though and I am going on the assumption that it is the same as for the XBs. Later edit: Never mind, found it on the spec sheet pg 20 Warranty: 24mo unlimited miles. But it states that the 24 mo clock starts at the lesser of: 1) 24 months from owner purchase 2) 24 months from when the model year came out. (pg 159) I may have misunderstood the legaleese there though (Message edited by doerman on December 30, 2007) |

"Missed a service interval pages 168, 169 & 170 - @ 18,600 miles." All that happened is somebody blew it on metric-SAE conversion. The intervals are correct for metric, but wrong on SAE distance for 30K km + The matrix is good, miles are off, kms are good. I fixed mine in my manual. Happy Old Year, all- Zack |
