I just wanted to stand up and share a few thoughts that have been on my mind. Not sure where to start but, here it goes............

I really want to thank Court and anonymous for their endless input, support and never ending task of helping fellow Buellers. I also want to thank Blake for putting together a fantastic world wide Buell website and of course Erik Buell for following his dreams and never giving up when things may have looked dim. Where else can people who have so much passion for a machine come together share trials and tribulations, goods and bads, ups and downs, tips and tricks? Being able to log onto BadWeb and actually touch base and speak to people who are factory reps is a great feeling. Being able to actually speak to the person/people who have designed, engineered and produced YOUR motorcycle is simply amazing to me. To be able talk with the guy who's name is on my motorcycle blows my mind! Even though the 1125R is now a production motorcycle and available to the masses, I feel we as real world riders and people are lending a helping hand in the post production "testing". People who are bonded by this motorcycle have logged on and shared their tales and stories striving to improve an already great machine. You can never please everyone, there will always be people out there who will bash your products or ideas, thoughts and dreams, but that is all taken in stride because we as a group have an overwhelming pride of the Buell Motorcycle Company and all it stands for. Again, I just wanted to thank everyone involved in making Buell and the new 1125R a reality. I look forward to one day meeting you Erik and shaking your hand.

We are definitely very lucky to have this place. Very well said Beach. I first registered on this site in 2001 after I looped my brand new M2 and was looking for parts, and the wealth of knowledge and fellowship has kept me coming back.

I am definitely lucky to have two buells!! I really hope I can meet Erik at homecoming, even if its just a handshake.

Heck, I actually think the purpose of Badweb is to piss Rocketman off.

I enjoy the place - even though I am NOT a life-long HD type or even though I still have a couple "brand X" bikes in the garage besides the 3 Buells.

It truly is a pretty rare place.

I NEVER had access to Mr. Irving P. Suzuki (or whatever his name is) or any of his staff when I rode/raced the Suzuki machinery.

>>>I still have a couple "brand X" bikes in the garage besides the 3 Buells.

So does Erik Buell and therein lies part of the wonder . . . folks here REALLY like to ride and REALLY enjoy each others company and shared passion.

Any objections if I post this thread in the Buell Assembly area when folks come back next Wednesday?

Thanks to everyone. . . you have no idea how nice it is and how appreciated it is by the folks who actually design and bolt your bikes together.

Beachbuell, well said. If it was not for Buell I would not be riding, at least not having as much fun riding as I do now.

As I am in the middle of saving a 98 S1W from a chopper project I am impressed with the way this bike was put together. It is not a "refined" bike like the XB but a raw power horse of a bike. I took it down to the frame and am starting to rebuild it and always find something that I wonder why they did what they did but the answer always presents itself and the "light bulb" over my head comes on and I say "now I see why they did that". Very cool.

Although I have been lurking for many years I only recently started to post on this site which is a long story in itself but the knowledge and the parts I have acquired have been instrumental in the purchase of two of my four Buells and the rebuild of the S1W.

I recently took a tour of the Buell plant and Mr. Kenny Rogers took my girl and I around the plant and even pointed out where my 97 S1 was painted. Lynn was not excited about me buying a new Buell but after the tour she got the Buell fever and is now looking for a Buell of her own.

Motorcycles have always been a big part of my life. I have rebuilt several Sportsters and feel very comfortable with the 1200 Evo engine which is what drew me to Buell in the first place. Finally, I did not have to spend thousands of dollars to make my Sportster handle better and go faster because Buell had already done it!

It is nice to have the BadWeb and a product like Buell to stand behind. I really look forward to meeting the great people from Buell and the BadWeb at the Homecoming.

Isn't Kenny great?

I had the pleasure of working with him recently and the guy continues to astound me.

One of the "problems" I'm hoping to do something about in the next year is to introduce a couple of the "Elves". Many folks have met Erik and Jon. . . . more are beginning to meet Abe, Steve and Tony. I suspect if folks met, like you did, some of the guys and gals who put the Buells together, they'd be amazed!

These are TRULY amazing people.

Cool stuff . . . .

Court, did you and Abe share a trailer for a while when you were working at Buell? I had a great talk with a guy at the inside pass day at Mid Ohio, and am trying to remember who it was.

He was headed back after the track day to go run a hare scramble...

I suspect you spoke with Jon Bunne a top-notch rider, racer and engineer in his own right.

Despite sharing office space with me and assigning me to the test riding team for the BLAST, he has survived and thrived at Buell.

Jon is one of the people you need to know more about . . . a simply amazing person.

But . . . . I imagine most the stuff he told you about me is baseless.

: )

I think he was there during the memorable "we'll fix your bike . . but first you need to admit you are a bloomin' idiot" incident.

My thanks and praise to Erik and all his Elves, (and Court!)too. Great bikes, great people, and probably the best overall attitude I've ever seen.

Can't wait to meet as many as I can at Homecoming!

Good thread!
Thanks to everyone at BMC, East Troy.
Thanks for my 1125R, missed my birthday, but made it before Christmas.
Thanks for showing me what a bike SHOULD ride like, after 35 years of riding.
Thanks for coming over to BadWeB and clearing up rumors, dropping little tech tidbits and socializing, helping build a Community.

And a BIG THANKS to Blake for providing this venue and the Admins for helping make it work so well.

Thank You BadWeBbers for completing the Community.

Happy Old Year

Zack

I am very pleased that Beachbuell started this thread. The people in BMC deserve a lot of credit as do may of our dealers and the good folks on BaDweB. I can not improve on the eloquence expressed in this thread already.

I'd like to make a small addition and that is to thank the good folks over at Rotax in Gunskirchen Austria for providing a most excellent motor for the 1125R.

As I have stated elsewhere here in, (such as in this thread)
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/325885.html?1198696576

I would like to thank BWB posters who have constructively added feedback on the whole 1125r experience, or that of any Buell, so that dealers who are so motivated can find ways to improve upon their service, procedures and customer knowledge.

To initially get ready on the sales floor for the 1125r ignoring service writers and techs who have not yet been able to attend the first technical training course in February 2008 falls short.

So through the feedback heard here, inquiries from customers, and a natural desire to learn about the bike early I encouraged service folks at High Country H-D/Buell to prepare for that first 1125r service even though their first 1125r on the sales floor.

For instance, there is a new model technical bulletin that parts and service have used to order all the typical or required parts for that first service when the bike rolls in. Coolant, oil filter element, spark plugs, fork oil, air filter, battery, tires, parts & service manuals - parts unique to the 1125r are on order in anticipation of the need. I know there are many here who think this stuff should be automatic from East Troy, and it will be, but in this instance the dealerships are left wanting, if only for the time being.

So I for one want to thank the BWB community for keeping attention on what matters, good sales and good service after the sale. The dealerships, in some cases, may be waiting on parts, training, and even bikes, but forums and posters like those found here help to keep those of us who listen on our A-game.

And the dealerships that work hard at staying ahead keep the owners out riding. Isn't that what it is all about, or should be?

It seems like everyday is Christmas. I too with to extend my thanks to BMC and the little elfs that post here under anonymous. No where ever in my life have I received such ... attention. AND DIRECT FROM THE FACTORY.. I can hardly explain the emotions I feel with that type of attention. Almost makes me wish they were not all anonymous so we can correctly give people their due.

Thank You

I have purchased 5 new Buells in the past to support the company. Not to mention the parts and service I invested so much in. I have even seen pictures of my vehicles all over the Internet in particular the Ulysses in the air I personally know of two direct converts I have also brought to BMC.

And for them to recently place me in such a unique category. What can I say?

Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.

BMC company, incredible! A surprising experience I could never have expected but will share with others.

Thank You.

I have to pile on to this thread.

My story is that I came back to motorcycling after a 10 year break. I started with the Sportster - a wonderfull machine. Moved quickly to the Tour Glide - to accomadate my SO. From there moved to an Ultra (since the SO loved longer rides). Yet, something was missing.

So - I picked up a GSXR - a wonderfull machine too. Then an XB12R - and I was in love.

From there - added an M2, a Blast (for my son), and finally my 1125R.

I left out all the experiences prior to the dark days (when I didn't ride). But suffice it to say - my experience with BMC is insanely positive. The products themselves - well - they serve their purpose as promised (and then some). The people responsible for the products - they are unique people in they CARE. It so shows - and speaking as someone who has invested in their products, it is an amazing feeling to know that the folks that make the products actually care and are empowered to work directly with customers.

And let's not forget this amazing community. This site - and the members who frequent it (and not forgetting the sponsors) bring out the very best in Buell-ness.

It is truly a good time to be a Buell owner.
