I love the Firebolt and I LOVE the 1125R but the Bolt's fairing looks soooo wrong with the scoops.
It looks too flat, too pugish up front for my tastes.

Pretty neat option for those who like it though : )

I am going to try my hardest to leave it alone, I swear I will really? after all this is why I bought it, but I still have my hands on my sons ulysses so I get to play doctor on it, will be looking for a 08 motor for it in a year or two, would be nice to have a 88" motor in a uly frame, and the 08 motors are so much better now that they redid them for 08, I love the uly but did not go off road and did not have the power I wanted so my son lent me the money to buy the 1125 and I gave him the ulysses and he will let me play with it, so I get the best of both worlds, but do not think I will let him get ahold of my bike, atleast not for a couple of years, he is still a newbie so the training goes ahead as planed and hope he can ride better than me, that would make both of us happy, he can race and I will be his mech, father and son team, that is what I want to see him race, time will tell. Wow that totally cleaned up the sides. The scoops go from evil to some of the best looking bike intakes ever. But using the now smallish Firebolt front, yes matches scale of tale and tank, but now body looks to fat. Getting closer!!!! I may be getting me a new Buell sooner than I thought.

Keep it up guys!

I'm betting Airtech in California will eventually have a nice fairing for it. I'm hoping for just lowers so as not to have to change much if I decide to do so. How about you Al (American sportbike), you have anything going with fairings?

I guess I'm in the minority on liking the Firebolt fairing better than the wide body 1125R fairing. To me the XBR fairing matches the curves back to the (same) air box/tail section better. I was taking a good hard look at the fronts of the two bikes at a PTT event months ago.

Maybe my fixation on the big fairing detracts me from looking at the side pods though. Who knows?

That earlier German pic of a (small) XB-R front fairing with a full side fairing just doesn't look right. An 1125r wide front with the fully integrated scoops (side pods) look better for me. Good effort by the German dealer... I'm sure a full fairing will be forthcoming.

I'd also like to see Buell go the low drag aero route and that means a bigger tail but it will definitely be back to the future.

I had contacted airtech for my son who wants a race fairing for the ulysses, we are building a street and track bike, he has the money and I have the know how, they said they had no plans yet on any buell fairings, I am turning my 1125 into a sport tourer, I was on the hyway to day and loved it, I feel I can go the long haul on this bike, and will be doing an iron but that my son has challeged me to, he know I almost did it, it was on the ulysses, not quite 1000, but could have, did 970 in 18 hours, and thrirty more miles would have been easy, but it was dark, and I knew I could have done it but did not care, I am not a bragger, but will have to step up to his challeng, I have a garmin zumo so I can document it on google earth and buy other requirerment they ask for, this gives me something to look foward to, to see if he can do it, I also have some idea's to make the bike carry gear, and look good doing so, I will post pics in a couple of month, I do not have money, so I can not go out and get everything at once, so be pationt and see what I come up with. I now think that the "regular" 1125R is a great looking bike....just look at the chassis & 47mm front & 8-piston caliper & ZTL & swingarm & the "motoGP like" tail section........

I also think that with a well designed full fairing, it will be the best looking bike out there.

I wish the Germans kept the 1125r upper front fairing...

I'm betting that we'll see Sharkskinz, Sebimoto and not Airtech. Airtech tried a couple tuber bits and pieces but stayed away from the XB series.

Sharkskinz did the XBR race fairings and so did Sebimoto (mostly sold through Yoyodyne).

i still like it, but the more i look at it they needed to mold around the scoops closer and bring the back in towards the frame. narrow it up a bit near the back and down under the scoops. i would like to see that.

I just picked-up my 1125r today... Any full fairing has to have the wider front fairing. Not sure what those Hanover, Germany guys were thinking.

The "quiet zone" is indeed noticeable and the front fairing looks great. Form and function...

Of course now, I have lost some of my objectivity...

Vagelis,
The bike is lots of fun... It feels lighter, more precise and more intuitive than an XB. The power and front brake are excellent. I put about 120 miles on it but I have to keep the RPMs below 6000 for break-in until 300mi.... and then 7500 until 600Mi. It just started raining ans snowing around here so I am looking at it in my garage.

The wind protection from the new front fairing is remarkable for a sportbike fairing. I also noticed that the air scoops (pods) seem to also deflect some air away from my knees.

I wonder how the fairing deflects snow...?
If I go out now I could find out...

Farther back in this thread when all the CG's and HP/Weight ratios were thrown around someone posted a top speed mph from a track. Was that from an "25r"?? I'm still in break in mode and really curios if anybody knows the top speed yet.

3800RPM in 6th Gear gives you about 60MPH.

Theoretically speaking...that is about 154MPH @ 9800RPM. The red line is higher than 9800 but the I used the peak HP rating per the Buell specs.

OF COURSE, this is only theoretical...Aero affects increase significantly at these speeds.

I am still in break-in mode...
