Although its early to start a attendance list, there are a few questions which come to mind.

The Cresson TX event was the 10/23 and Laguna is not for another six weeks 12/18. Will the Inside pass pre-production fleet be brought in and replaced with the now confirmed production units?(sorry to those who pre-ordered bikes) Or will these (Mule-Buells) come full circle for one last round of corkscrew thrashing? At least they had some time off from the weekly abuse, though they never showed it.

So who is going? (besides me)

Who wishes they were going?

What will you be riding?(besides the 1125R)

What group will you be in?

Who has ridden there before?
Iv done over 1000 laps there, unfortunately they were all from my couch(Playstation) Not for long though.

I'm glad they saved the best (track) for last!!
See you there.

Seth

Put me down for the "I wish I was going" list eventhough Im probably one of the dumba$$e$ that would destroy it coming out of turn one.

MY question is this....(providing copyrights, pre-prod features and trade secrets are not involved)

After they get the pre-prod units back and finish all the evals. that they may do to them...
Will they be available for purchase?
Theyd probably give their employees first dibs (and rightly so), but wouldnt it be neat-o if they allowed the less "financially endowed" yet true Buell enthusiasts a shot at this milestone machine?!

Id buy a "pre-loved" one in a heartbeat if the price was right.

I would love to be there...

There's really no chance for me, at least not this year. Too busy with work and home projects : (

Tim,thanks, but just need time. Have some new sticky tires on it,new battery, changed the tensioner to updated one and new fluids all around. Decided to go with chain as they stole the belt and front pulley, put new stock S-1W exhaust back on to pass noise regs there. Stole the front forks off my race S-2 and sent em off to Aftershocks.New brakes all around. Still need to check carb and get it lit off.And get an a/c cover for the race one that got snatched.

Brian and I are riding up together from El Lay. Brian has a 200? XB12R and I am, of course, backmarking on my 1999 M2. Which I am told would benefit from some sort of baffle between combustion and CARB. (Thanks for the reminder Jim.)

That is unless the Duece-n-a-quarter I ordered is delivered by then. Which would actually be a little strange because at my awkward skill level I think I would rather test my mettle with someone else's metal.

I'm registered in Advanced because that's all that was left, but in the same situation at Willow Springs they let me move down to Novice. I have another track day next Monday, November 5th on the big track at Willow Springs with Trackdaz. Because they spell it with a "z", I assume I will be surrounded by twenty-something squids-on-gixxers who will blow me off the long straight like I'm riding two-up.

I know Al is going and Eric and Jerry too.

Never been to a track. Bought a set of full leathers a couple of years ago from a Duc owner(he rode it 3 or 4 times in 3 years) at work. Trying to get info on the 1125 I've watched more track video than in the last 30 years and I really want to do it. Nearest track is Pueblo - about 3 hours south.

I'm jealous.

Have fun, ride it like ya stole it.

Andrew,

Actually TrackDaz is run by racers at Willow Springs. Not a lot of instruction but they do run a tight ship.

Ask one of the staff to spot you and they'll work with you but they really don't offer instruction per se.

Despite the spelling, they're not really as ghetto as the "z" makes it seem.

Dustin Coyner and his dad Charlie are great folks. Steveyracer is too.

Trackdaz will be more crazy than Buell's trackday was, just be aware of who is on the track near you. The advantage of the big track is that you can pretty much avoid certain riders unlike on SOW. From my experience though Buell/PTT and Trackxperience have been the safest, least number of crashes and the most controlled of the ten trackdays and four organizations I have ridden with by far. I have also heard that TI2TT is similar. However, to be fair to Dustin and Trackdaz, I have only been with them on weekends (WSIR and Buttonwillow) which may be the real issue. I think it is always better to go on a weekday, and the farther from the weekend the better as it eliminates a certain type of rider. With Trackdaz you will get the WSMC riders which is good (experienced and safer) and also bad (really aggressive passing by some). You probably want to be in the B Group. C may have huge differences in rider abilities, and A typically has racers including sometimes people like the number 1 plate holder.

BTW, 1:35's and below are Dustin's stated expectations for the A group at the big track although he is very cool about letting riders move up or down in the groups.

I guess all the Anonymous contributors are busy getting the 1125R production up and running.(a very good thing) Unfortunately it seems we will have to wait to find out the production or non production status of the Inside Pass bikes for laguna.

I was just going to ask what a descent lap time at laguna,

Hey Zach...you say theres a track in Pueblo?
The original CCIR track has been closed for a few years if thats the one you mean, however instead of their plan to put houses there I guess they may have changed their minds! My Brother.("Tbear" or Travis Scott)whom lives in Guffey told me a few days ago they may have re-thought their plans and may salvage it!!YaHOOOO if they do!..He and I have been to several AMA races there and it's the only track within reasonable distance! We went to Miller it's Inaugural year and it was just a big dustbowl with very little for the public.
Travis just returned yesterday from a track day in Albequrque,New Mexico(I know, bad spelling!)and I guess he had a great time passing all the Buells on his V-Rod...He said the track day was only $70.00..!!I never heard of such a great price!!He is always looking for riding partners and since he accompanies alot of rides for the local Women riders groups it might be a good gig!Plus the area he lives in is a paradise for Sport riders as you probably know!Give him an email if your interested....maybe the next track day he could share expenses and the pick up truck.

i WILL be there, it will be my first look at the beast from the riders perspective. And not just pictures, stat sheets and videos. Worse than a kid before Christmas, I already cant sleep. I wish that they had a decent track up by us (Pacific doesnt count its two hours away) Getting my gear tuned, cleaned and checked (I always seem to forget something) ... Lets Ride.

Ebear - I was told of a track in Pueblo by the Duc owner mentioned above. Just talked to him, he's referring to PMI. I found a video of a guy running his 240Z.... it's a crappy little hole. Bummer

Does anyone who is going to the inside pass day, live close to the track. I'm flying in on the afternoon of the 17th and it would be cool to meet up with some local West coast Buellers.

Now that the date is actually approaching, its time to un-bury this thread and see who is going and what we will be riding when we get there. ( the same pre-pro fleet from the Inside pass circuit or actual production bikes).(Anon)??

Also since production bikes are now in the hands of consumers, Is anyone in the northern California area getting one before the 18th. If so, do they have the stones to drag it to the track for some gentle break in miles with a fleet of its beta brothers?

13 days left.... work productivity has come to a screeching halt.

I just heard from the dealer that mine was leaving the Buell plant today. That will put it here approximately 1 week from now, about 6 days before Laguna Seca. I have every intention of breaking it in over those 6 days and riding it on the track there.

I sure hope that truck isn't late.....

I just filled out my on-line stuff yesterday. And I took the ROC S-1W for a short ride around the shop just to see if everything was working, in the wet from rain with new tires-- so I was real good, bike was A-OK. Still have to get rear brakes to work, both my master cylinders are junk.

Thats great, youll probably be the first private 1125R owner to have one on track.

Both Al and Jim, are either of you driving/riding down that morning or the night before? If your heading down on the 17th, maybe we can meet up. Ill be flying in to Sanfran around noon monday.

I'll be driving up after work on Monday and staying in Salinas. I will have the trusty 12R ready to go, but I am still hoping my 1125R might get here in time to bring also. The dealer told me Friday the 14th but I'm not holding my breath on that date.

It would be real cool to have all the production model 1125R's make a parade lap together.

Good preview for those of you lucky enough to be at Inside Pass - Laguna on the 1125R if you hadn't yet seen it. Good switching from McWilliams doing the briefing to the scenes from the bike.

Good overview of Laguna - from a rider's perspective - throttle, gearing... yeah, video through the windscreen is not good for orienting yourself but is better than nothing.

About 9 minutes
