Those who don't appreciate its aesthetics can still agree that its a an impressive performance machine - especially when considering the price. (this is based on the assumption that the individual has half a brain - a follow-up question could be made to qualify this: Ask their opinion of the GEO Storm)

I still like the looks of the 1125R, but to be honest I'm not buying based on looks alone. That's about 20% of my decision.

Agreed, but when it comes to motorcycles, I'm still paying for "sex" - and I'm not rich. So $$$$ should also weigh in.

And again; the bike looks good to me : )

I guess there is at least 1 guy here who will not want to sleep with my 1125R.

So far though, I like what I've been seeing/hearing - then again I thought the RS looked cool (still do)

I will wait to see the bike in person. By the way, the looks of the 1125R are beggining to grow on me.

There are bikes that they do not look as good in the photos, but when you see them in person they are looking great.

For examble MV Brutale, Ducati monster S4R

So I think, it has been said enough for the looks of the 1125R. Let us all wait till we actually see it.

Also, I would rather ride a "strange" looking bike that no-one else has, than a bike that 10.000 people also ride.

But that is just me.

Got to sit on the 1125R at Sturgis yesterday.
The scoops are kind of big but not when sitting on the bike.
What doesn't come across on the web pictures is how blue the frame is, very flat blue denim Harley like.
I think I like it.

Impressive, great engineering accomplishments. I still want the SX version... Hoping that is one of the future developments that noone is going to comment on, and that I can trade my XB9SX in on when I hit 50k to 60k miles. : D

I saw Brutale at the CW show last year and I totally agree--what a sexy streetfighter. I almost bought one, but I am so glad I held off, cause of the emergence of the 1125r.

And I think that the MV Agusta F4 is the best looking bike on the planet, personally.


Also, I would rather ride a "strange" looking bike that no-one else has, than a bike that 10.000 people also ride.

I would agree completely & the only reason I would not wish this to be the case is the financial effect on Buell. They deserve to sell some 1125r units and as much as I want to be exclusive on this bike, I want to Buell to hit a homerun!

+1 on the brutale... I almost got one but its very pricey @ 17k, dealerships are nearly as rare as the bike its self, and I would not be happy waiting 30 days + for basic parts. I got the OK from the wife, but I really did not want to take a loan out.

A new XB made a hell of a lot more sense, but I could not help but feel like I was compromising just a little.

With the 1125R I'm expecting no compromises. Riding is believing, but I'm not expecting disappointment.

Yep, the MV dealerships are SO rare and that is the main reason I didn't buy one last fall. As i remember, there are only a handful (literally) of MV dealerships in all of California--and none in the Central Valley.

Am I the only person on the planet who thinks that bikes such as the MV Brutale and Benelli TNT look like crashed and badly repaired sportsbikes? Kind of like an early 90's home made streetfighter.

Even looking at them up close I still can't see why someone would buy one compared to an F4 or Tornado (bikes, not jets : )).

Better price, than the ones with fairings.

I like the engine to be visible.

I am actually worrying more about ZTL2's performance, than the looks of the bike.

PB magazine, hated the ZTL at Nurburgring on the XB12SS. But they liked the handling of the bike.

I, personally, think the naked bikes look awesome. I had a V45 Sabre a while back. It was stripped down and de-baffled, and that was my first "street fighter".
I suppose it looked like a poorly repaired (especially in the early 90's) bike back then, but this was the look I liked : )

I'd agree with that. I had 3 friends but them when they first came out. All are "art" not riders. That and the $45,000 kept me away. But in terms of pure "steel sex" the F4 is the hands down winner.

Some guy at work rides a Brutale in everyday and it's an attractive bike. A bit busy for my taste, but very interesting looking.

We use ZTL2 endurance racing. It does not fade like ZTL1 did. We have used both.

Huh? If you actually knew me you would know that I have argued for and defended Buell on many occasions. I just finally got tired of waiting for something truly new and went with Ducati which I would not have done if the 1125 or a better Firebolt (street legal that is) had been available. I still miss my red 12R and thought it to be awesome in the styling department as well as in many aspects of performance. It drew admirers where ever I went even though I had to endure all the cracks about the engine (which was pretty good in my opinion) from the masses. I never heard even the most obnoxious of the doubters criticize the looks though.

As for my comments, I am sincere, not attacking. True I have not seen the bike in person, but I have spoken to some that have and it seems many did not like the styling. I know that is subjective, and personally I think the SuperDuke is ugly. I just feel that some of the plastic doesn't do the rest of the bike justice. To me it looks a little like a helmet is sitting on the side of the bike. Time will tell what the bike purchasing public's reaction is, but personally I think being open to slimming down the profile could make the bike even more of a success.

All fuel frame, the outside of the radiator pods act as pucks.

They're supposed to protect the radiators as well.
There's a sheet of aluminum in them for extra impact absorption. The whole thing works like a big spring (so I'm told).

Definitely a lot of thought and intelligence went into its design.

Well I have seen and ridden the bike in person.

I would have to say as to my opinion on the looks, it looks bland to me compared with say an XB12R. Functionally I loved the bike, but if I were to buy one for myself, I would be looking to change the looks. I would probably try to go with a modified XBRR fairing and crash sliders attached to the motor mounts. Also I would remove the belt guards and maybe use 2004 XB guards if they would fit. Also on the tail section I would see if the older XB pan would fit because I don't like the way the new one bulges down. I would also be looking to replace the rear-sets as I am not keen on that either. Then I would dump the stock exhaust and hopefully by that time someone would have a nicely performing and visually appealing full system-I think Buell put performance above looks here without a doubt-the question is can a standard aftermarket exhaust perform as well??

Today I was sitting in the garage talking bikes when I noticed my 07 KTM 525 EXC also has dual radiators, and I thought how well they also kept the short wheel base yet all the lines on the bike look proportionate and consistent in theme. Not only that but they take crashes well, so none of the excuses given so far really justify why the Buell Duel radiators look so add-on 'ish or like an after thought when compared to other bikes.

There are those of us who think the bike is absolutely gorgeous, and that includes by far the majority of those who worked on it. I don't think anyone from the factory has said that "they look that way to protect the bike". They look that way AND they protect the bike. I'm sorry if styling happens to be personal taste, but that's what it is. WE don't think they look added on, they were styled as one integrated system to get the look we wanted. You may or may not like it, but we do. The bike you show above, Brad, looks like every other boring commonly commodity styled bike. The 1125 looks like a beast with slitted eyes and clawlike scoops looming out for catching prey. Enough of the crap "Buell styled all the parts differently", nothing could be further from the truth, I was a key member of the styling team, and the 1125 is definitely a more integrated set of lines than most bikes, and in a unique way. Saying there is no consistency is your opinion, but it ain't remotely true.

For the most part I've got to agree with the Anony. I get a BIG kick out of the people who say the bike lacks styling balance. Besides the origami and trellis bridge look that I find butt ugly, most of the other guys are sticking something about the size of a shovel out the back for the rider to sit on. 1125's style not balanced? What a crock.

You right about that Anony. That looks just like my old KLX650r that's in my basement. (broke) Even the pipe is shaped the same. The radiators are exactly in the same place. If you painted it green, it would be the same.

Not that I could care one hoot what my bike looks like much anyway. Certainly not what other people might think, but if it looked like the new B-King, I would have to kick myself before each ride. I don't think I've ever bought a bike because it looks good. I can't imagine what they would do for me.
I want my bike to do what it's supposed to and let me have fun and / or get where I want to go. I have no intention of posing next to it. (but I might sleep with my new 1125r when it comes :-))
