Well fine then... Buell can't/won't name it but we can : ).

Blake : )... Hows about you take all the suggestions and make a poll?

I'm going for Typhoon myself : ).

Maybe try to get a suggestion from Erik too and make that one bold ;).

I don't wanna call it "mikey2"...

Typhoon was a GMC truck, S15 Jimmy to be exact. Buick Grand national turbocharged V-6 and AWD.

I still like Monsoon, hints at water cooling too.

Correct... Along with the Syclone and the MUCH more rare Sonoma GT. I have Sonoma GT #482 sitting in my driveway. No turbo or AWD but MUCH hotter cams and heads. A decent chunk lighter too ;).

"Typhoon was a GMC truck, S15 Jimmy to be exact. Buick Grand national turbocharged V-6 and AWD."

That's a pretty common misconception for some reason. The Typhoon and Syclone were Chevy powered... I've won more than one bet on that one.

How about an "1125RCN" CN for cumulonimbus?

Or how about "Microburst" For those wicked down drafts?

Or the "Pyroclastic" for that super heated gas and rocks that melts other bikes.

The "Freezing Drizzle" sounds too much like Fizzle.

The "Fog" sounds too much like log.

What about the "Tsunami" "Catch the wave" Way too commercial I think.

I know, how the 1125rSEF for "Saint Elmo's Fire"? (those little balls of lightning).

How about the "Talimara" which is the Comanche name for a cold north wind?

Please, no hate mail.

Djkaplan - you are correct, but for people who don't know anythign about it, that is the easiest generalization I can make to describe the vehicle. Somehow, turbocharged Chevy V-6 confuses people, sorry for the inaccurate description.

Mikey2 was the XBRR, FYI, not the 1125. Court got over-excited with the title on the book with those drawings. Now the question is can he blow up the other notes on the desk and find something? Let's see it's becoming clear here using the Lockheed lab equipment, lets see. M...I...L...K...B...R...E...A...

Aw rats!

I think Monsoon is too close to GM, as well. Stereo system.

I'm still partial to Harrier myself...or maybe "whassat?" (as quoted from the mouths of those we will hopefully be passing on tracks and roads throughout the world. Or is that too close to Passat?

man, it's late. Time to take my ramblings to bed, LOL.

Bearly: I LIKE "talimara" that's a really good name for a bike, but it could be too close to taliban.

Then again, I do hope that the 1125r does terrorize the competition

Who needs a name. Ducati 1098 doesn't have a name. Perhaps when the 1125R hits the streets it will..."slow". : )

If you wanna use a fighter plane, I've always liked the name "Corsair".

"Buell Corsair R" sounds kinda neat.

Corsairs were pirates as well, aaaand:

"The name "corsair" derives from the commissioning document received from the king, the Lettre de Course ("racing letter" or "racing commission"). The "race", la course, was a euphemism for chasing down foreign merchant shipping."

It's appropriate on several levels!

I don't think "Thunderbolt II" would work.
The original Thunderbolts, (tubers) could carry two comfortably, along with all their gear, for miles and miles, full of smiles...
This bike doesn't appear to be able to do that for long distances. The passenger would be sliding into the rider, and no space for bags in the back without interfering with the passenger...

I just did a quick check of most bikes out there and it seems as if everyone but Triumph and Harley is slowly backing off of names. Suzuki went with the Boulevard and letters and numbers, Yammie's stars and YZs and FJs, Honda's all full of Shadows (long time trademark) CBRs and VTXs and BMW ain't nothing but numbers. Are people out there trademarking names like Buell Tomcat or Honda Firestorm to rake in bucks? Is that why we have Camrys and Colbalts and Fits and Versys and names that really don't mean squat?
