But it would be nice if they would post those 30+ dealers. Even if they are not 100% set-up, if the process is started I would think the dealer would want folks to know.

if the new EBR is going to make it they need to do a much better job of marketing than they did in the past. Here is what I see they MUST do:

1. Keep their website updated.

2. Make sure that their dealers listed are current and have actual bikes in the showroom for folks to look at.

3. Make brochures available that dealers can give to a potential customer to take home.

4. Have the demo truck out every weekend at a different dealer so folks can test ride the bikes

5. Get Cory West back out to the track days with bikes available for folks to ride.

6. Get the P&A page back up on the website but let the dealers do the actual sales. If you allow the customers to buy direct that hurts the dealers as that is a major source of income for them.

Yea, I should. That's where 1313 bought his I believe.

The latter part is true - Ray Price of Fayetteville, now Fayetteville Powersports, is where I got my 1190RX.

Unfortunately I don't think the first part is worth following up on. Here's what I won off their eBay auction on Jan 15, 2016:

EBR Dealer Sign

I would welcome the opportunity to be proven wrong...

Nice score, but sorry to see them dropping the brand.

This looks like an interesting article; unfortunately it requires a subscription:

It does look kinda bad to . . . at the same time . . .

1) Be having bikes "rolling off the production line"

2) Say you don't know where they are sold.

There are about 2,000 better ways to handle that conundrum.

I'd have a person, and I know "persons" are at a premium at present, who was tasked with answering every sales inquiry within 12 hours.

I'd have a couple scripts and each one would be (ask I'd suggested last week) a "path to a dealer".

They, of instant necessity, would range from "there's a dealer a block from . . ."we have a dealer 2 blocks from you" . . . to . . . " the closet one we have at present is 700 miles but we expect develops in the coming month . . can I send you literature".

END EVERY DIALOGUE WITH A SOLUTION

>>>>The list is not finalized as of yet but will be posted to the website when it is.

That is simply a really poor tactic. When is "finalized"?

I hate to see them loosing the "early adopter enthusiast" sales at this point.

I agree with Court. There has to be some way to buy one right now if they are being built. Rob Weaver bought his RS directly from the factory in the initial production run. I got mine before most states knew what they were resulting in its being titled initially as a "2012 Buell, no model specified". That was amended later to EBR.

If there are any dealers who can sell now, interested parties should be connected with them and shipping considered if people really are ready to buy. Some will buy later, but some will talk themselves out of it. Walk into a store in South Philadelphia looking interested and see how they respond if you look like you are leaving. Big Hearted Jim will work very hard not to lose a customer.

I am sure that the folks who are working at the factory are working around the clock to get things going and there aren't enough of them to go around. There is some momentum here though that can't be lost.

Note that Egan's article says: "...more than 30 dealers have already signed on."

Maybe legally binding dealer agreements haven't actually been signed between EBR and the dealers, or those agreements can't be signed until EBR is registered as a manufacturer in those states? I can imagine the lawyers telling EBR not to say more until things are formalized. Still, like Larry says, there ought to be some way to buy one right now.

I'm just REALLY hoping they've been on the ball with their NHTSA and EPA paperwork or this train may never leave the station.

Want one? There's a dealer actually advertising them and has the bikes available for sale RIGHT NOW.

Ask for James Tordik.

If I didn't have kids inbound for college, I would have an SX for this summer, and I'd buy the stuff necessary to make it an AX as soon as they became available.

Alas, my SX will be a year of college for Ben.

Wild that EBR didn't know this.

I notice they are not an EBR dealer either . . . . .

curiouser and curiouser.

This . . . . me thinks . . . supports the case for someone . . . in addition to all the Bike Building Elves . . . to be on top of this.

"I notice they are not an EBR dealer either . . . . ."

The dealer listings have been removed from the ebr web site. There's just info on the new MSRP's.

Come on guys; EBR has been in production for only five days. Cut them a little slack. From the article by Peter Egan, they have a total assembly staff of four people. There are lots of things that need to get done, but the whole company is comprised of , what, 30 people? Yes, they excel at what they do; but still, they're only human.
From the sound of it, Liquid Assets is run by some fairly sharp business people, and Erik has brought along a few above average folks, as well.
Give them a chance to get it all going.

From Egan's article: "EBR currently has a total staff of twelve, three of whom are assembling bikes, with one man building engines. More will be hired as production gets rolling..."

From Crusty's post above: "Come on guys; EBR has been in production for only five days. Cut them a little slack. From the article by Peter Egan, they have a total assembly staff of four people." ...."the whole company is comprised of , what, 30 people"...30 people - really??? hopefully the majority (of 30 people)is in the Liquidation side of the biz...

(Math) Question is it 3 assembly personnel and an additional 1 assembling engines ( total 4?) or 2 assembly and 1 engine builder for a total of 3?
...either way the ratio of overhead(8)to direct labor (4?) sounds like an aerospace company (!) ...IMO for a start up to succeed... need to get more wrench turners and less pencil pushers... Cross training needs to start soon...otherwise the cost of supporting the overhead will crush them due to lack of throughput.

I thought I read that they were only planning 500 units initially? If that is true, i would suspect they only need to assemble, what, 10 bikes a week?

I think the most important thing to everyone that is cheering for EBR was starting production again... They did that, now i am sure they will start tying up all the logistical stuff and paperwork so that they can become profitable on a small basis, then build on that slowly. You know the story about the two bulls on the hill, right?

Crusty- I think all we're saying is potential customers may not be patient about this. EBR publicly announced production is back underway, rolled out the first bike, and put out a press release that said "e-mail us for the name of your nearest dealer." People are e-mailing them and getting a response that basically says "we don't have our dealers lined up yet; we'll get back to you." Maybe it would have been better to do what Court suggested.

Here is a link to a video of the press reception during the rollout. He mentioned a dealer who has the Patriot bike and described as a "top EBR dealer." I couldn't understand what he said. But it sounds like someone has 2016's out there. I wrote and asked, at this point, no response. I am sure too that they are working as fast as they can. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJdCmgxyaqU&featur e=youtu.be

interesting article by Peter eagan....

Price is really interesting.....getting into an area I can afford again.

Still not a good fitting bike for me, but when the investor started talking about higher bars, lower pegs, My ears popped up......

My m2, s3, s2 had some pretty good riding positions....Maybe............

Those are pics of the EBR world superbike team which was sponsored by Hero. I agree they probably should have edited out the pics of the Hero bike though.

I was actually poking around last night looking up specs. My X1 with its' race kit has more horsepower than my first car which was no dog in its' day.

Granted, both vehicles are dated now, still something to ponder.
