Court,

It sounds like Ducati is taking their I.O.U.s out of one pocket and putting them in another. Is that about it?

Am I crazy? I reported once before that I had read where the Krptinite U locks that use the same cylinder style lock as the Buell could be opened with any BIC pen in 7 seconds. I didnt get any Emails, but I just saw it again in a national mag and they mentioned it was also used in Cycles etc. Did I miss the warning? Do the Buell locks pick that easily? HELP!!! Please respond to penick 'at' nettally.com

I dont know if it was confirmed anyone was able to open the HD/Buell locks that way. All I have seen & heard is it was 1 particular lineup of the kryptonite locks.

I think it was Popular Mechanics latest issue that disclosed the lock problem, they opened one in 7 seconds. The article mentioned motorcycles too and only HD uses these. Dont tell me HD has not done anything yet, I am shocked!

Whats this Softail worth? SOmeone is trying to trade it to me.

Actually the tube frame Buells use a similar type of lock.

Quite a bit of work on that bike, stretched tank, fenders, paint, rims, rotors, etc. Does it have the 95" kit?

They probably tied up $25-30K in that bike including the purchase price. Getting it back is another thing.

Buells Rule, PLEASE CONTACT ME OFF LINE. I need your feedback on this very custom one owner '87 soft tail w/10K miles. It still has the 80" mill, but it is very potent @ 100 HP at the rear wheel. Only the frame is original, wider/chrone swingarm/inverted forks/belt primary and drive/ etc. What do you think it would sell for, in the spring????? george penick 850 877 9959 or penick 'at' nettally.com

Is the alloy used in Buell tube frames mild steel or chrome moly? I need to know because I wish to weld on some additional brackets.

Anyone know how to contact the Buell channel dealer/partner rep? I've had a very bad experience with a dealer and the Buell customer service has been less than helpful, when I could get them on the phone. I'd prefer to take any response offline. Thanks - john_K_3@hotmail.com

Anybody out there have the Corbin seat on their S3? I'm having trouble mounting mine, specifically getting the lock latch to hook up to the rear plate. The latch post is also difficult to get lined up.

I have a post on the Ergo section, but am not getting any answers.

Thanks for any help.

Buelliedan.
Those look like some sort of mirror mount, but not from an XB. But I could be wrong.

Dan they don't look like anything off my XB. They aren't even the brackets for the new extended mirrors.

If the person you got those pieces from said they were from an XB, then I'm thinking they have to be aftermarket. I could not see anything like that on my XB9R.

"I also apoligies for the
very small and cryptic web page but I don't actually want any info out on
the bike yet. Stay tuned this will change very shortly. As for drooling
over the bike- remember this is the very first prototype. Now that all
the parts are together we can finially study the bike and improve from
here though most opinions have been very favorable.

Michael Czysz"

Last week I was out at PIR during a trackday and came upon an incredible
prototype racebike that is
be developed right here in Portland! A three man team headed by Michael Czysz
has plains to bring
this bike to production--WHOW...

The bike just bristles with innovative enginering ideas.
When I first spotted the bike it had the fairing and gas tank off which clearly
displayed the inline
4 cylinder engine configered like an old Henderson 4 except that it turned out
that there are two
heads mounted at a slight angle (perhaps 10 degrees?) running two seperate
cranks counter clockwise
to each other--which I assume acts as a counter balancer.

The transmission is underneath the cranks and uses a dry clutch mounted at the
front of the engine.
With such a narrow frontal area 2 radiators are being used, one in the front
and a secondary unit in
the coweling behind the seat.

Unfortunatly I didn't have a camera with me in the mourning but blasted back
to the house at lunch
break and returned only to find the bike fully faired and a discussion going on
with a Cycle World
reporter, Michael Czysz and Rich Oliver (AMA multi-250cc GP champ). Rich had
been out on the track
on a Motoczysz modified YZF-R1 that was using the Motoczysz front fork which is
using a shock-spring
unit mounted between the 2 forks.

The photo's that I'm posting were taking on the sly after everyone had left to
watch Rich out on the
track so I apologize for the poor angles:
http://home.teleport.com/~se6bq5/motoczysz/

Some other features are a carbon fiber frame and swingarm plus much , much
more...
