The speedo and tach were one size for the pre-DDFI tuber days and then a different size for the DDFI tuber days. Based on you comment, and I actually think I have a similar tidbit in my memory bank, I would expect that the later (DDFI era) tuber gauges were a little bit larger diameter than the pre-DDFI tuber gauges. Basically what I'm trying to say is that I believe what K12 said (tach should work fine) is accurate.
