***The bottom picture does not show the new damage. The clutch plate is now scratched, and the right scoop has abbrasions - Also, belt is now missing from both pics***
i actually took the pictures the day before. tear...

as for price, offers? minus the few things needed (new clutch plate, belt, some fairings if scratches bug you), she is in good condition. I was thinking around 4950 obo

ps. thats my own custom exhaust on that. sounds great. shoots a plume of road dust around you when you start her up. because exhaust gas is directed down at the can tip.

Your thread title implies the bike has a salvage title, is that correct?

So I understand it as:

1. Bike has a Salvaged Title
2. Has been down multiple times
3. Is going to need a new belt.
4. Lots of scrapes and scratches?

Man, I'd be interested, but that price range is way, way too high for that condition, especially for something I'll have trouble registering on the street with a salvaged title.

i saw its in iowa and got interested, but yes as has been mentioned the price is atleast double what a banged up(and even worse if actual salvage title) bike will normally get.

non salvage with literally a couple thousand miles are not bringing all that much more then that : ( sorry, not trying to be rude, just letting you know how the market has been for awhile.

Im still shopping for a bike though i dont know much other then i want a buell and i love the R styles. Not to hot on the idea of a 1125 as my first street bike but for only a couple grand it could be a steal. How hard is it to work around Salavge titles for a daily driver commuter?

Prior salvage mean prior salvage, not currently salvaged. if you are private party, you can not legally purchase a current salvage bike. so in recap there are NO issues with getting this one registered - as its PRIOR salvage. no issues with insurance. no issues. not being rude, just trying to clear the air.

Next, the last totally smashed 1125r i saw sold for 3500 here - so i was basing my prices on that. mine is road-worthy, just needs some new fairings if you're picky, and a drive belt... and has the repaired title (aka no trouble to register). all good.

I asked for people to make offers if they were offended with my price - so i'll say it again, Make me an offer ! : )

I also have a PRIOR salvage '06 GSXR600. No problems getting it registered. has cheezzy plastics on it: ( everything else very nice. 4500$ ~7k miles

oh and a clean titled rat street fighter fzr600. 1900$ great mechanical condition. 10k on motor

Your clutch is weeping. Badly.

I've seen salvaged cars put back on the road. They'll have bent frames, a history of swimming through floods, and/or other neat features you find out about later.

Look, I hate to really comment on this thread BUT...... PRIOR salvage does indeed mean what you say BUT that "Prior Salvage" stays with the bike for the rest of its life.

If you are private party YES YES YES you can buy salvage vehicles, in fact MANY places make huge amounts of money off of vehicles that way (for example crashedtoys.com and IAAI.com and MANY more.

Now with all that out of the way, I am more than happy to make you an offer. Keeping in mind the last one I bought in the same condition was right at the 1600 pricepoint, I would be willing to pay that same amount for yours (given the photos are accurate).

buellitup. The clutch does weep, but it only needs topped-off twice a summer. i looks bad because I haven't cleaned her. and regarding the salvage - i know exactly what my bike has been through. Also, i custom build bikes from the ground up. This way my DD. I went over every little thing. I dont mind the scratches so I left the plastics on it. street cred i guess.

guell, The title says Prior salvage, and acts just like a non-salvage title at this point.

and chris, I was trying to tell people that one private party can Not sell another private party a currently salvaged vehicle. You have to have a special license. now if it has been repaired, then yes you can. I have purchased all my bikes salvaged From licensed salvage dealers, but you NEED to repair the title to 'prior salvage' first before you can legally sell it.
In response to your offer, no. The motor & sensors alone are worth more than that.
The lowest I would take is 4000.

It needs a new clutch cover, new drive belt, and new fairings. All the other parts, sensors, and brackets are either good, or new.

$1600?== Just because someone finds a deal doesn't mean that is the going price. Half the reason these bikes aren't bringing what their worth is statements like that.Bike is worth that much bent in half.

You mention that you know what it has been through, so, what happened to the bike that would get it the badge of salvaged?

The insurance company walked away from the bike and left it for dead. They do that in the 50% damage range. On this bike, at retail, that's around $2500 in damage.

It, like many other salvaged bikes out there, was crashed.

The front fairing mount was broken, the plastics were scraped, the rear sub-frame was bent, and the upper shock mount was damaged.

fairing mount = replaced
subframe = replaced
mirrors = replaced
plastics = left
upper shock mount = repaired at the most well known weld/fab shop in the area.

Buellitup - if you deal with salvage bikes like myself, you will begin to notice that many of them were salvaged for things as simple as missing a few fairings. Its not as cut and dry as always being "50% damage range".
Its up to the buyer not to be an idiot, and buy a total burn, or a bike that was run over by a train.

after all, my gsxr was salvaged for missing 3 fairings, the headlight, and gauges. everything else is perfect.

I just bought a rebuildable bike [1125r] that was totaled by the insurance co. Replaced left cowl,front brake lever,rear master cyl.,shift lever and footpeg. Bike runs great and I was happy to have paid $3300. I think the dent about the size of a dime in the frame over the left peg was enough for the owner to claim the frame was bent . By the way , I thought I got it too cheap--Have 4 and bought it anyway. Hope I don't run into any at $1600 ,the garage is getting full!

$1600?== Just because someone finds a deal doesn't mean that is the going price. Half the reason these bikes aren't bringing what their worth is statements like that. Bike is worth that much bent in half.

A bike is ONLY worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

......If you dont believe that I bought that bike for that price, Call up the Jeff at Wisconsin Cycle Salvage and inquire about it.... I have also watched MANY auctions through IAAI and these bikes go anywhere from 1500-4000 (There was a 2010 Uly a while back that went for 4200 bucks and it only needed pegs and a frame puck and had only 70 miles on her, oh yeah, and it was VIN #0001).

I have owned close to 20 Buells and have restored and brought back multiple Buells from the dead. If you have trouble with my credibility please do a history search of my posts and you will find some of my projects (1125r, Xb12R, Uly's, XB9sx, and so on).

Now look, I posted my OFFER to Aplejuce, he rejected it, and thats all there was to it. That did not require you to interject with your OPINION.

Chris=== Didn't question your credability. I've bought and sold a few myself and currently own 23 Eight of which are Buells. I think you'll find this board is an excellant place to buy---People keep beating the prices down for some reason.[not good for the brand]If you want to sell prices are higher everywhere else.Like I said- a deal doesn't set the market value. I just recently fell into a 1971 175cc Harley Sprint for $50 all original 500 miles with original tires.Just because one sold for that price I'll bet you can't find another one. You said yourself they go for 1500 to 4000 and I'll agree on that range for damaged bikes. $1500 =parts bike $4000=repairable ride.I'd buy every one I could get my hands on for under $2000 in this condition And double my money in Two weeks here in Florida.

This thread is getting juicy!!!
On a side note, somebody find me a sweet XB9S in Cali for cheap!! I just bought a blast to learn on, paid $2500 I now know I got ripped off by about 750-1k but it's all good. I now know. But yes; XB9 or XB12 in CA go go for cheap!! FInd it!!

p.s. lower the price to like 3k and you're better off. Thing is you can get one that has zero issues and has never been crashed with a little bit of miles for about 5k.... non the less, nice bike, I'd take it if I had extra cash around.

and i agree with you on the price... but i think my brain typed in 4000 because deep down, i dont want to sell her. As soon as I sell my gsxr, I will probably un-list the buell hahaha.

i JUST ordered a new belt - should be here soon.

Street cred = I wreck both side of my bike?

I never want street cred if thats what street cred is

good luck with sale, 4k is a bit much for a salvaged bike

I bought a 2k mile 2009 no damage for 4900 and that was in 2010 the bike was only 1 year old. You want more money for a 3 year old bike that is Fu**cked. Price needs to be closer to 2500
