If I cant sell this wonderful machine soon I feel that I must part it out. I hope it dos'nt come to that, this is like new and could give someone years of pleasure. If you guys love Buells please dont let this happen, call me @ 661 979 0711. I'm only asking 4500 or best offer. The bike comes with a jacket, helmet and gloves. GREAT DEAL!

Well a couple comments.
First and foremost....nice looking bike.
Is that the original seat...or was it recovered....sorta like the gray along the front.
What kind of muffler is that.....looks like a 2 stroke pipe....lol....
And now my million dollar question.....and not nessicarily directed right at you....but....why is it if a Buell (tubers) don't sell right away...."they are forced to part them out".....Why...?...Would you take apart the F250 you have been trying to sell...?...No you just keep marketing it and wait. I wish I had some extra "mad money" and would swoop up all these bikes.....hold onto them for a few years and when there are none left....start selling them off one by one for top $.

God don't part it out unless your starving. The market for used Buells will come up AFTER all the new ones are sold. That will probably be early next spring. By the way nice bike.

Instead of going straight to the whiney part--- about how you'll parts it out if it doesn't sell---

why not tell your potential audience a bit about your bike? What is the service history of the bike? What modifications if any have been done? suspension? tires? WHY (state the benefits, make the sale) should someone buy your bike? Where are you located?

The "I'll parts it out" strikes me as more of a temper tantrum... any idea of how much work THAT will bee? For sure you will have to put more effort into describing the various parts you would like to sell? And what will you do with the leftover parts?

I, for one, would be very surprised if you could cull $4500 in parts one at a time off of this bike.

And, sorry, but $4500 doesn't strike me as a "great, great deal"... maybe show some flexibility on price... that might be more attractive to a potential buyer than the "threat" that you will parts it out...

I don't mean to pile on, and I know I should mind my own business, but people really should do some research when coming up with a price. For the most part people on here are better than the magic numbers people throw out on Craig's List, but not far off sometimes. KBB shows retail 4160 - trade in value 2855. NADA shows a range of $2965 - $2255.
I've seen the idea of collector value thrown out, but I can't honestly say except for maybe 1st or 2nd year model that there really is a collector value in the near future.
Sorry for probably pissing off the seller.

Well I can definitely say that buying my 99 X1 this spring.....has been more fun than the price of admission. It's a nice bike....give it a little time (unless you really need the $).....and then "parting" is a royal pain the azs.....have done it numerous times with wheelers and sleds.....not always worth it.

Is that exhaust only held on by the exhaust studs? I don't see any other clamps anywhere.

1st things 1st, The bike only has 6000 miles. That being said, 2000 for the motor, 500 for the forks, 500 for the wheels, 150 for the rear swing arm, 150 for the shock, 500 for the body work, 150 for the seat, 500 for the frame and that dos'nt count the little things like gauges, wirering, headlight, upper fairing stay, mirrors, brakes and exhaust. Now lets sell the EXTRAS that come with the bike, Helmet, 100, gloves, 25, jacket, 150. As you can see there is money to be made, now as far as time doing it goes, well, I love it.
Now dont worry about pissing me off, I'm easy. The bike is what it is, I'm not going to give it away, 4500 is a fair price for an AWSOME bike and this is just that. I'm open for offers, 4000 would be a good start and I can help with shipping if need be. I hope the bike goes to a Buell lover like myself and it has a wonderful life but I just dont need it as I have 2 S1W's now, thanks and please come again.

As for the exhaust, the pics are from when we were mocking it up. The hangers are being made right now and the header and muffler are coming back off to get polished. That should look real nice.

I should have just put all of this in one post but............... The seat, the seat is the original seat that I had redone, the idea behind the tweed is to make the seat flow with the body work of the bike. I have a great seat guy that really does awsome work. I told him what I wanted and BAM, there she is. I think the seat looks great, its very comfortable to. The material is a carbon fiber pattern with grey tweed.

See now that's the way to promote your sale. You should be able to get what you want for it. Good luck.

Not to bust your bubble.

Stock motor, $1300.
Forks at most $325.
Wheels are brand new on eBay for $150 a piece.

Swingarm goes for about $80 plus shipping.

That shock, you'd barely get $60 out of. This one hasn't sold at $60:

Frame you'd be lucky to get $200 for with or without title. This one is up to $150 with a swing arm, not much time left:

Wire harness, maybe $30-40
Headlight, $35
Fairing, Maybe $75-100
Stock Header, $100ish

Just saying before you think you're going to get what you posted out of those part. I am on ebay all day long everyday searching for tuber stuff...I see everything Buell that gets listed on eBay =)

So, just trying to keep that beautiful S3 together!

How about sharing the name of your seat guy? I like his work, I need a S2 seat redone.
