Well, with the news of Buell's demise (at least as we know it), I've decided that my Buell means more to me than the Sporty, and I'd rather have another Buell in stable as a second bike than the Sportster, so up for sale she goes so I can fund another Buell.

I'll entertain trades for a Uly or S3T.

1964 Sportster XLCH, engine matches frame. Model KH flywheels (factory stroker of sorts), 11.5:1 Dytch Pistons, P-cams, Tillotson Carb and Ham Can air cleaner, ported heads. Also has a wet clutch conversion and a 12v generator. All of the motor work was done by the previous owner a month after he bought the bike, which was in 1967. The bike is very original, frame hasn't been modified. These early CH's are hard to find unmolested like this.

I have some extra parts that can be worked into the deal, like gaskets, engine parts, fork and brake parts, gauges, etc.

I've had the bike for over two years and it's been on the road since I've owned it. I put a fair amount of miles on it this last year - goes down the road good.

The only things it needs is some carb work (accelerator pump stops working if it sits for a while, but isn't an issue with regular use), and one of the footpegs needs a new bolt as I snapped the old one and just haven't gotten around to replacing it.

I'll try to check this thread, but your best bet is to PM me with questions.

I'm asking $4,300 and the bike is located in Albany, NY.

I bet you'd have a good chance of trading it toward a Buell, pretty sure most of the dealers would rather have something like this on the floor than the Buells right now. Syracuse has all their Buells marked down really far so you should check your local dealer and see what's up.

My local dealer is offering better prices than Syracuse is. I hinted at them taking this as a trade, but they didn't seem interested and they don't have anything in my price range -I'm looking for an even swap.

I don't think they'd want this to sell seeing as how they'd have to provide some kind of warranty with it.

Cool bike -- I had a 1960 XLCH when I graduated HS in 1974 -- If you were asking about 1/2 what you are I'd come get it --

That sure is a classic!
You should post it over on the XL forum:
http://xlforum.net/vbportal/

That's where all the Sportster enthusiasts are.

Bart -

I may eventually - they started charging for ads there, though. If it doesn't sell locally I'll go that route.
