Your bike is a 04 so that makes it 2 model years old now not one.The bike is worth 7 just like a GSXR1000 of the same year is worth the same.Your suspension was set to your weight???That doesn't always make it right. You could catch a 250 that cause you must be afraid to turn the throttle.I have 3 local dealers....sales are great. You don't see many on the roads???That because they don't have thousands and thousands produced ummm small company in comparison. As far as this message board I have made many a friend here and met many from all over the country and some from other countries.Thats one of the things that make this forum great comradity. You won't find that anywhere else. You sound like a straight line rider so yes you have picked the wrong bike.

It would be the one to have in your collection for an all out attack on your senses. Maybe a bit much for the track though. Then again you may be able to handle it. I know that I couldn't that's too much HP for me on a track anyway, I'd like to have a gixxer 7 fiddy for the track. And yep my wife wanted me to upgrade to that before I bought the XB12R too, but I just couldn't get over the bolt once I threw a leg over it. That sounds like a cool project. Have fun.

It appears that you need a ride change. Good luck with your next bike. I am sure you will a lot happier.
I think the Lightning will be a lot happier too. Sounds like a case of irreconcilable differences.

I had a 250 Ninja too. No way in the world that there was one going 135 those bikes make at most 35 hp.
Yep. Top end is around 110. And the front end starts getting light at the triple digit mark. EX-250 is still a great little bike that is helping me get my skill set back so I can finally stop pining over slow, decent handling, piles of loose bolts and have one of my very own!

(BTW, triple digit mark was achieved on my first 250 about eight years ago. I'm cutting my teeth all over again, so nothing like that in the cards for a while.)

it might have been a ex 500...they all look the same at night. a much older audience i agree...just a bunch of middle aged, balding, fat guys that feed off of eachothers ignorance. m1 I was refering to sales numbers...the local dealerships here still have new 04's on the floor...cant give'em away. I am an idiot for buying a Buell, that is correct. as for the test ride....the dealership in Ocala didnt have a bike with fuel in it, so i couldnt ride one (should have waited to ride one) I dont want to be a boy racer, I want a bike that has much more choices about modification. the buell is a decent street bike, that's it. if you want to have a drag bike, it sucks. if you want to build a track bike, you will find yourself needing a gear change. that's a $2500 operation (chain conversion kit). Gsxr 1000 (04) are selling on Florida for around $8500, not $7000....i was comparing inline-4's to turn of the century(20th) pushrod technology to prove a point about how far behind the times this Buell really is. It needs a v-rod based motor in it. that way you can have some revs off of a corner instead of a rev limiter. cycloneman....my next bike will be a inline-4 liter bike of some sort thanks for your concern

Again, at Blackhawk Raceway, I WAS PASSING 600's and 1000's. Was I getting passed by others? Yes. There was a guy on a Sdeed Triple that was dusting a lot of people as well. Funny thing, there was a guy at Union Grove Dragaway with a Busa that was getting his @ss handed to him by just about everyone, mostly H-D and Buells. Most of that has to due with the guys inability to launch the bike. As I said, has to do a lot with the rider. But I know when you get your new I-4, you will instantly turn into Rossi. Or maybe with all the options out there you can crank out a sweet Busa with nitros, extended chrome swing arm, kick-@ss paint job and take it to shows where you don't need to show it's speed cause it's so damn cool looking. Grow up, stop all your inmature name calling and post your bike on E-BAY. I doubt anyone here will purchase it due to your crappy attitude. Good idea to pi55 off the people that would buy your bike.

actually the bike has been on the classifieds of this post for a month....and one guy responded. so no one on this site even made offers. as far as your comment about extended swing arms and crap....please. the rider has everything to do with the performance of a said bike. I feel the Buell has no more to offer to me personally, that's why I am selling it.

This thread is *really* close to just being nuked.

Five, we are sorry you don't like your bike, and hope you find a good home for it and get a reasonable amount of money for it. To define reasonable, look for *sold* prices (not asking prices) for a GSXR-600 or F4i with the same age and milage, calculate the percent depreciation, and apply that to the current retail price of an XB similar to yours.

Everyone else, please drop it. This has degraded into a peeing contest.

If anyone wants to buy the bike, feel free to post. If Five wants to post clarifying information or price changes, feel free to post. Let the rest of the discussion around the thread die please.

Thanks : )

Its about kinestsia. Its an addiction to that feeling you get when you’re blowing around a curve and the kinetic energy is pulling on your insides. Then when you have to jam the brakes as you throw your bike from right to left ‘cause the second half of the shicane is way tighter than the first!

Anybody may have put that extra $1000 in their bike to get 10 more horsepower that dogs you in that 170 to 190 mph stuff but it’s the rider that can pull away when your almost scraping your indicator. That is something money can’t pay for.

That’s what loving my XB is about. I’m sure 150 RWHP is a gas in its own way, but I don’t want to have to worry that the next 1 or 2 degrees more throttle might spin my rear tire causing a low side when I’m pushing my limits on the curves.

If those aren’t the things that get you off, don’t get a Buell, simple as that.

i already own the freakin buelll and i am trying to sell it. yes the bike does handle...but its not the greatest in the world...other bikes offer the same feeling in your gut. gsxr 600 and f4i have a msrp of $8500...not $10,995...gsxr 1000's, zx-10r's and r1's all sell for $10,995...they have a better resale value....my bike shouldnt be clumped into a 600 price range for resale...but it is....and that sucks...so anyone want this bike? if so call me, post, or email me....i am ready to be done with the "buell experience"

Not trying to add fuel to the fire, but Five should just consider this a 'lesson learned' and move on. If you really dislike the bike that much, sell it at a loss. If the bike is paid for, and you only get $4-5K for it, that's $4-5K closer to what you think you want.

Lets all let this drop, if the bike isn't for him, it is not for him. No big deal. I can understand the wanting to defend the honor of Buell, but this won't change his feelings, and may even turn him off from Buell even more. Five, Buells are great machines (IMO). I ride my for the simple enjoyment that it gives me that no other bike has. It does this with "only" 76 hp. I have ridden more powerful machines, but simply did not enjoy them as much. Sorry that Buell wasn't for you. I hope you do find what you are looking for, honestly.

Take care, be safe.

I wouldn't go that far, I can't understand how you are not in love with your Buell, and would rather an I4.

Hey everyone, i am new to this board, but i am much more impressed with my buell than the honda cbr600f4i that i had before it...sure the 600 would accelerate great, but how often in the real world do you actually go over 100 , if ever.
The buell gets more "awesome bike, what is it, cool, nice, wow, etc." in one day of riding than the cbr ever got total.
Every time i stop for gas (which thanks to Buell isn't very often) i usually end up staying a few extra minutes to talk to someone about the bike.
I think of my buell as a tattoo or peircing...they are not for everyone, but people that don't have one look at you with envy and wish the had the b@lls to get one.
