So, i bought my first bike (2005 buell blast) and it has a harley cv carb installed on it. BUT, the carb was installed like junk. Only thing keeping it on are a tube and 2 c clamps. Anytime i take the speed over 45 it blows off the rigged mount. Need something to permanently keep the thing on. Help me out!

Pictures?

The carb, stock, is attached to the motor by a tube ("Das Boot"). The bulk of the attachment is from the airbox, on the intake side of the carb. The carb is screwed to that.

Do you have a filter on the carb? Or is it just open to the air?

If you're missing the airbox, there are a few options.

The first is to get an airbox.

The second is to get something known as a "SuperBoot" around here, which is a much more rugged "rubber tube" that can fully support the carb.

I do have a filter on it.
And i have the air box as well. I just think the guy that installed it cheap-ed out on a boot and just used a spare tube he had laying around.
Any good links to a site to order a boot? Wanna get her out on the road as soon as possible

Oh, ok. Wow.

You can get the "official" boot at your local Harley dealership.

Or, from your friendly American Sportbike website:

If you want the SuperBoot that pretty much will do anything you ask of it, the easiest place is Dan's ebay store.

Just got some cash from a job and ordered it up. I was able to rig the boot it had on tight enough to ride but she is still sputtering (due to leaking from the crappy boot i assume) so we'll see how it likes the new superboot dan figured up
