2002 blast just taken out of storage. Was difficult to start, but ran okay when warmed up (past emissions) I replaced intake boot now it starts better, but not good. Now the idle increases as it warms up to about 2500 rpm. I've retightened, adjusted, and reinstalled the intake boot 5 or 6 times. Anybody know what is wrong?

Welcome to the Thumper Forum on the Badweb Frankenbuell!

Is the throttle closing all the way, when you took the carb off you may have dislodged one of the cable sleeves from the holder at the carb. Verify that the carb butterfly behind the slide is closing all the way by either holding the slide up and watching the operation of the butterfly or watch the action of the throttle cable crank on the outside of the carb.

Still having trouble! Butterfly closes all the way, cables are working properly. Today I removed the air box(put vacuum hose in place) and fired up the bike. Next I began spraying carb cleaner, the idle increases when sprayed on left side of carburator, also when sprayed around intake manifold to head flange and head to cylinder gasket area. I thought this meant leaks, but could this be the enrichner reacting to the fast temperature change caused by the cold spray? Everything seems tight with no signs of leaks and no problems were detected before storage. Which part is the tps and which is the enrichner? I think one of these is the problem but I don't know much about them. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Nope! It's leaks! The autoenricher is, by design, a slow reactor. Did you clean up around the boot? Did you make sure it was tight? You should not be able to twist the carburetor in the boot with the air box removed. Is your intake manifold intact? There should be a vacuum fitting on the left side of your carburetor. It should be plugged.
