got my blast ('05, 2500 miles) on the road today but only had time to put a little over 50 miles on it. my first impressions are as follows: the vibrations i feel at idle smooth out once you get going. the brakes seem pretty good. the bike seems to handle well enough but the stock handle bars have got to go. glad i ordered the sport bike bars the other day. gonna have to adjust the air pressure in the tires. right now there at 25/25, gonna try 30/32 tomorrow. a quick run down the highway found me going 70mph with no trouble, and it felt like there was plenty left had i wanted to push it faster. the stock exhaust sounds like my lawn mower at idle, but sounds much better as you run through the gears. it seems to backfire slightly when you let off the gas but nothing so bad as to cause me to worry. maybe i will put a new plug in it and see what that does. i picked up a low seat off ebay but found i prefer the standard seat. i'll keep the low seat around for my daughter. i wish it had a larger capacity gas tank. she clunks going into first gear but once underway the shifts are positive and sure weather up-shifting or down-shifting. the shifter is a bit long but it's not too bad and will not require any mods to make it shorter. one thing that suprised me was the power. it's not blazingly fast but that stump pulling torque makes riding it lots of fun. overall i am quite pleased with the bike. i had looked at lots of differant bikes and for my style of riding i think i made the right choice. i can't wait to start modifing it this winter.

Cool. Enjoy and fill us in as you modify it. I have put on a couple thousand this summer and it has been a lot of fun.

I'm here to say that after 5000 or so miles they only get better.

I just changed the oil on the Big Kids Blast and he has 19000 on it, and the bike just runs so much smoother than the Little Kids Blast that has 9000 miles on it.

Indeed. Mine is a different bike than she was after the 5,000 mile mark.
Tire pressure sounds waaaaay low.
I run mine at around 37 psi. M'eh.
