Taking a break from working on ole Blast vader - Go get em Court - No sweat - guys ridding weather for both of you is just around the corner - mine's always - almost - lol ;0) Buell is number one in my book, its just that I've always had nothing but high respect for aftermarket engineering groups like Nallin and Banke because these are people who are putting their all on the line to already improve a good thing and do so sucessfully. Thats what America is all about - individual expression even as a society - Very few people have a stock Buell, though I'd be proud to own a stock 2000 Blast (or any other 1st yr. Buell - lol) - the point is we love to make things our own. Heck in this town - SF - even the rice bikes are customized to a certain extent to express the owner individuality - lol - Ralph has the same vision problem I met in a young lawyer - how much people actually get paid for stuff vs. the urban legends that everyone hears. No biggy - just makes me smile - Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ

Ezblast, do you have a Forcewinder intake on your Blast? If so, which one can I order? Now that I have the carb off I don't want to put the stock airbox back on. Can you tell me how to replace the float valve I tweaked? Jim.

Jim - refer to the manual and that BCridere's sight and the V-twin site for pic,s and steps thats what I did and printed out pic.s and pages and coralating it with the service and parts manuals. I was going to go with a Force - tipped it to Allen for the work done on my bike. Going with the ASB torque stack and a stack filter. Pic's soon and dyno in another 300 miles or so - You probably brushed it taking the bowl off. Good luck bro. Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ

Ralph,

All I'm saying is do your research better. (Like Court said the factory has other things to do besides making after market goodies.) It took the factory 3 years to come out with a set of cams and an exhaust. I'm a proud member of Team Elves, planning to take my Blast to the salt. My main sponsor is Nallin Racing. The "factory" hasn't done anything for me other make an ignition module that costs almost twice any of their others. Also Nallin Racing Heads not only alters current parts but makes many of their own from scratch, and the rummer is that there are more on the drawing board.

All or nothin', never like to chill :)

No prob man -I live in the land of chill - its all good - lol - I can do it for both. There are other groups out there doing buell Blast heads and claiming very good numbers - I choose Nallin because their quality is never in question and I wanted street - bullet-proofing - Yea I know I'm dreaming - still - I went for the best I could find in parts and they were it. With the exacting job Hall's has done labor wise - I figure I got a Blast that should be durable with good power to say the least(sure feels that way;0)). Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ

The "factory" is in the business of designing and manufacturing motorcycles.

Nallin (and others) are in the business of designing aftermarket performance parts.

It's important that you know and understand the scope and mission of all parties.

Court,

I realize the scope and mission of both parties my comments were to emphasize that the factories mission has not been to build performance parts for the Blast. I have not forgotten that it was the factory that designed and built my beloved bike in the first place. I have also no forgotten that the Blast was not designed for what many of us do to it. What I love about the bike is that it was designed in such a way that it begs to be modified to what the owner wants out of it.

My thanks goes to Buell for deigning and building the bike. The goes to all of the others out there (Nallin, Banke, Zippers) that make goodies to make it only better.

Ain't life grand;

Ray

Your puking - usually from overfilling oil (mfgr. recomends 2qt, however, 1 3/4qts should be the starting point - then add as nesc. - bring line to halfway point with engine hot on stick), or long periods of high rpm, also a kinked breather hose can cause such back up. The Blast is a bit like our favorite anorexic date - too much consumables and she pukes - lol - Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ

Thanks Ez, I'll check the breather hose. The oil level in my Blast stays at the end of the dipstick. Its time for my 2500 mile service anyway, what type of oil is everyone using now. I heard there is synthetic, is it a good move? Also, what it the cross reference # for the oil filter to walmart? I ordered the Pirelli MT75 for my rear, the cheapest I could find shipped was from MAW 62.00 shipped to my door and the dealer wants 69.00 to install. That along with the performance series muffler, service manual ,rearsets, and everything else I want to add,$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Walmart # ST4967, mobil or penzoil are the top synthetics, and if you ever get into the top end - rockercover gasket - lol - chamfer the umbrella valve hole to halfway 60deg. and drill the oil drain hole 1/8". Not a drop of puking since I've done this - checking almost daily - in the old days after DP got hold of her a few times - she became quite the puker - lol - now just like new - no puking. Please forgive my newbie dumb question but is the oil checked hot with the dipstick screwed all the way in? The manual says to check it with the motor running. Doesn't this kind of vibrate the oil level around, causing an inaccurate reading?

Engine off - motor hot - screwed all the way in then check. No question is too dumb if it safely helps you enjoy the art of motorcycle riding(Other people on the board could do with remembering this). The risk I take in riding is well worth it because of the peace I recieve riding. - lol - Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ

I finished putting the Exhaust, DynoJet kit and K&N filter on the night before the record-breaking snow. So I will give you better feedback after the first ride but this is what I know so far. The exhaust is defiantly louder but sounds great. (I have nothing to compare it to except a stock blast.) The looks are a thousand times better. I will also try to get a pick soon.(I don’t have a digital camera). For my next project; I have Crossroads BL-2063 Blast Handlebars and BL-2054 Blast Rear Set Controls on the way now. Just wish I could have spring delivered.

Just came back from my first ride with the new exhaust. The performance increase is excellent (more than I expected). The only down side is the pipe is allot LOUDER but sounds good. I wonder how much louder than the white brothers it is.
