I think if I had a city beat, I'd much rather be riding a Blast than any decked out tourer. (and I'd definitely rather ride the Blast than a scooter) |

I believe that is a picture of an East Troy, WI police bike. It's either an S2T or S3T (I've seen that bike dozens of times and the exact model is slipping my mind). Somewhere I've seen a picture of Blast police bikes.

That is not an ET Police bike. That's a genuine HD demo ride leader on some bikes we'd made for "media use".
I knew those bikes quite well having gotten lots of local cop shops to snicker and grin as I rode past with blue and red strobes and POLICE emblazoned on the side.
That all came to a very QUICK end in Daytona, FL in 1998 and sent me scrambling for a roll of black electrical tape to avoid time in the pokey.
Bad guy on a bad day = bad situation.
Remind me to tell you about it sometime.... |

cops couldn't catch...well really anyone on a blast. probably not suspects on foot even. I love mine though. |

Court, I am surprised that East Troy PD let you ride that thing in town at ALL. They can, and are quite anal. It's one area that you don't deviate from the posted limit by more than 3 MPH. I've had more trouble from East Troy cops than anyone else during my youthful fast car syndrome  |

Actuallly, I never rode that in East Troy although the local constabularly has, subject to the de novo guidlines, been quite understanding and accomadating.
Now . . . Mukwonago was another story. Seems a friend in Wisconsin had previously "stirred the pot". I was riding from Waukesha to the factory one day on my favorite back road that happened to take me through Mukwonago.
I passed a police car that was headed the other direction. The moment we passed, he did an immeidate u-turn. Seeign this, and hoping it was unrelated to me, I signaled and made a perfectly legal turn off the hgihway through town.
Went down a couple blocks, hooked another squeaky legal to intercept the road out of town....
Zoooooooooooooooooom . . he spies me . . races up behind me, making me think he was gonna hit me. Followed me about 2' off Barny's rear tire.
Never a peep, only a glare/stare. The moment we hit the "welcome to" sign, he backed off, did a u-turn and headed back to town.
When I arrived at the factory, I asked someone "is there anything I should know about our relationship with Mukwonago?"
Remind me NOT to tell the "rest of the story".
