Well, the Firebolt is the Firebolt. Thank God or Erik that it is!

I'm curious if any (credible) anons would care to confirm or deny changes or additions to the Blast for 2003 or beyond.

Displacement? Wheel size? Gearing? Revised ergos?

Saro,

Those are good questions. Buell could throw the single Blast motor into the Firebolt frame, making it a FireBlast. Up the displacement to 650.

Keep the bikini fairing, fuel inject it.

Small wheels for shorter people. Blast type ergos.

I would even consider one of those, for putts around town.

Or do it the other way, a parts bin special:

A Blast with "classic" M2 forks & wheels, using 3.75" pistons which would then displace 565 cc's

Then put in the Firebolt heads/pistons/cams/tranny shifting rails/reed valve and it would be a fun bike. Because short people like to go fast too!

Somebody already built this bike, it was in an old battle2win from the Donner event a few years ago:

The Blast, by Buell's own admission, is the second best handling bike made by them(a bow to the Firebolt). So an adjustable front and rear suspension, clip-ons and rear sets, 620cc(read torque),loose some weight - 20-40lbs, and adopt a fairing simular to the 'Bolt would make for a fun Blast. Blasting on the dark side!
