Thank you and happy new year to all. It's been a wonderful year in the world of Buell and the future's promising to be even brighter. This year Buell has proven themselves as a company eager to go light years beyond what is technically required to take customer service to a higher plane. There have been no less than a dozen "home runs" and some amazing things have been accomplished. The most notable of these are the lines of communications and Buells' willingness to listen, eagerness to respond and genuine interest in their customers. On behalf of people you don't know and names you'd not recognize . . . Buell is a company, and a group of people, I am proud to have my name linked with. Court | ||

What is the date of the Buell anniversary Court? I'm referring to the inception of Buell Motorcycles. This is the 25th anniversary coming up correct? it would coincide with the 2008 model year IIRC | ||

Jon: Just a note to thank you for starting this thread. Last year, I was honored to help over 200 Buell owners resolve mostly simple problems generally resulting from poor communication. In addition, there is a lot of misinformation promulgated by a very weak dealer network. As an example, there are NO "unavailable" parts from Buell. If you, for instance, need the inner bag liners for a 1998 S3-T, I just took a photo of the >2,000 in stock at Buell. Every piece of bodywork ever made is readily available. The Elves at Buell have been most supportive is working with me on the unusual cases. I can think of about 6 right off the top of my head that were REALLY WEIRD, most cases where Buell's legal obligation lapsed years ago, but helping was simply the right thing to do. Buell, personally and corporately, has a most unusual conscious for a large corporation. I generally ask but two things of folks. First, that they acknowledge I have no, official or otherwise, authority to act, speak or do ANYTHING on behalf of Buell or HD. Second, that they not discuss the results of my intervention publicly. It's been a great year for Buell. In addition, Buell has added some incredible talent and created an unusual work environment that promotes innovation and creativity. Some of the talent Buell has attracted is "off the charts" impressive. I expect great things. I also had the recent opportunity to spend a day meeting with folks in various roles at Buell and I can't tell you how impressed I am at how some of the "old timers" have grown and are adding to the Team. One of them is mid-project on a process, with an expected completion about 3 years out, and even in it's current state it is incredible. It's no big secret, but it's not internet fodder. Next time I see you ask me about 7:14. The last year, witness some of the other "fess up or else" threads has been a bit trying for me. I've gotten too many "help me or else I'll make a stink on the internet" stuff. Ready evidence as to why companies build walls around them as customers want to be "buddies". Buell has done a pretty good job of overcoming this in the face of some vocal opponents. Homecoming and it should be announced soon, will be the June 1-3 weekend for 2007. The 2008 25th Anniversary is in the planning stages and if anyone has any particular things they'd like included, I'd like to hear about it. I have one up my sleeve I am trying to put together that should be fun. I'll be in East Troy a couple times in the coming months working on this. I'm going to be a bit less in evidence (good news for many, given the single star your post got) starting the 16th of this month . . . but the folks who need to get in touch with me know how. Dtx, I'll tell you it's a pain in the ass. I've never had it so rough. Each morning I come out to my new Firebolt, and my first true love (03' 9S). If I saddle up on one, the other gets jealous. I try to make a point to ride both often and with equal passion. YES I love the bike. It's a keeper!!! | ||

Hi Court (and all others) Happy New Year (I know it's a little belated but I've been a bit busy lately and it's the thought that counts) Anyway, Although you have NO OFFICIAL AFFILIATION with Buell and (in the words of a true German hero and good friend Sgt. Schultz) I know nothing! you are a true advocate of and incredible resource for ALL Buell owners! Thank you and keep on keeepin' on! Buell et al has, this past year, forever endeared themselves to me and my family. They stepped up and bent over backward to help me. The company response was much greater than legally required (and more than I ever expected). I am not a long time Buell owner (at that time less than a year), this is my only (so far) Buell, I do not have any pull. They helped out a very little fish in (what I consider) a big way when they really didn't have to. To me this all adds up to an outstanding ethic and a clear vision of where they want to be and how they want to be seen by the public. For my (woefully) small part, there will ALWAYS be at least one Buell in my garage! Furthermore, I will do anything else in my power to spread the word and pound the drums. I know  sorry.
