He's posted on several threads recently. I wondered if things had been worked out.

There is evidence of him posting! Maybe after everyone finally took a step back he and Blake had a chance to talk without an audience.

Let's hope.

Hey Court! Think you could chime in on this discussion, and maybe shed some light?

I can fix that.

But I'm swamped at work today. Cut and paste the offending thread and e-mail it to me WITH VIN and full contact info (you and the dealer).

Court,

I been following a clutch issue with one of our local forum members.

He embarked in a trip to Patagonia, and on the middle of the trip the clutch went bananas. He claims that a pebble stuck between the belt drive sproket and gearcase, causing a friction that damaged the clutch. Some riders would say the clutch did not worn because of the stone, but rather oil, pre adjustment.

Local Buell denies the claim.

Pretty disapointing to see one great project on a trip to Patagonia go bust, not to say our confidence in the bike.

Any thoughts?

Some pics.

Hey Court,

Did you get my PM about the man from Orange, VA?

Howard

PS I sent the email on my wifes computer so it probably said it was from Sarah Miller.

Court, Becasue I don't like retracting free beer offers or being mad at people I would really like to know what the basis was for your statement copied below.

You sent me all the facts detailing a fiddled and faddled with bike that was not part of the wheel bearing deal, you did the bearings yourself, with perhaps the wrong ones, the bike was a total conflagraation by the time a dealer, regardless of how capable, got their paws on it.

What is fiddle faddled?
I never installed a single bearing. I did order the correct bearings to avoid down time and when I initially dropped the wheel off at Quaid I accidently left the front bearings instead of the rears. This was corrected when I took the bike to Skips.
What is "total conflagaration"?

I am trying really hard here to understand why you think and therefore said the things you did. I would prefer to think it is a mis-communication rather than an intentional red herring.

Hello Court,
The sidestand fell off of my '05 XB12R yesterday afternoon somewhere on the freeway. I looked online and saw that it is a "recall" part for that year bike.

I called up the H-D/Buell as I bought the bike used and did not get a recall letter. After giving him the VIN# of the bike, the gentleman who answered (Peter) informed me that the recall does not cover my particular bike. I reiterated the year and model number which he said it was probably a bike that was sold after the recall was given and so did not need it. I am confused because as far as I know, it is one of the first (actually 3rd) bike made for that year according to the VIN#. Am I wrong? The VIN# is 4MZAX59J153000003.

Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon, Jo Fernandez}

There are no open recalls for that VIN.
It affected bikes built in Jan of 05.
That is all I could find out off HDnet for you.

Preload and damping adjustment? The adjusters look different from current bikes - different brand forks?

Temp's about 38F, Been raining for days, mix in some sleet & snow in the higher elev's, and where's Canfield?

In Wisconsin, in the middle of all that awful weather, riding new Buells and, as usual, having a freakin' BALL!

There is no doubt whatsoever why there is a "Court in Session" section of the Badweb!

Heh!

Actually, the weather in the area of East Troy, Wisconsin has been quite nice this week! Monday and Tuesday were upper 40's to low 50's (F).

Yesterday and today were simply splendid! Mid 50's! Lots of bikes out in the Kettle Moraine and other biker haunts.

What a GREAT Turkey Day!

Tomorrow should be another great day, too!

Court, rip the extra plastic off and snap a pic. Without those things on the side and that fairing it might look pretty nasty.

Actually TEAM BUELL was one step ahead of you. The "Swiss Army Buell" was not the intent of the TT, however using stuff already in inventory didn't hurt for some parts.

Dane spent his time and talents on the suspension (new to Buell. . . . don't look for them in the parts bin) and incorporating lists of things like "I wannit longer, more fuel, lower, more suspension".

Folks have pretty much already made up their minds so I'm not tripping over myself to compress any of the 4GB or 6 rolls I shot.

There are some impressive elements to this Buell. I'm curious to see if the media looks at the bike or adopts the foregone "parts bin" mindset.

I have some opinions. . . big surprise, eh?

: )

Court,

I, for one, applaud Buell's latest effort.
I like the color, not too fond of the side pieces. Would prefer passenger pegs and a different seat.
The chassis and suspension seem like the right direction.
If they were to offer the short stroke engine, bored out for the extra power, instead of the long stroke 12, It would be perfect for me.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the suspension travel is somewhere between the Ulysses and the Lightning. So, if I buy the suspension from a TT and put it on a Uly, then I'd have a Buell that my wife could tour on. (My Uly is a little too tall for her)
Demo rides are in order.

Court,
I'm actually "on the fence" on this one. I like the _real_world look of it in your pic a lot better than the ones on the Buell web site.
I test rode a CityX last year and liked it a lot, but wanted a little more motor (I'm spoiled since our friend in CO helped me out with the S2) and the Uly, which I liked a lot, was a wee too tall (and expensive) for my majority city stop/go commuting.
'Course with the baby now I'm out of the new bike market, but ya never know.
