BINGO! If he does make the jump, I'll attribute it directly to Rossi saying "It takes balls to switch factories, so Lorenzo will stay."

Rossi knew exactly what to say to get him to jump ship.

I dont believe that a comment from Rossi would make him do the change at all. Ducati is ready to pay him more. Ducati is looking better now then it has in last couple years and it may just surprise us.

It would be really crazy if its all rumor and he takes Predosa's seat at Repsol....Lol who'd see that one coming??

Ducati was ALWAYS ready to pay him more... but he opted to stay with Yamaha because it figured it was a surer bet for more championships.

Apparently he has a history with Gigi from his days of racing for Aprilia in the 250 class... so that might be enough for him to make the switch. His crew, however, has already stated that they will all remain with Yamaha. He'd have to adjust to a whole new pit crew if he does switch.

BOOM!

Four in a row in Austin, with a commanding lead and undefeated on American soil...

At this point the only reason to watch the MotoGP race in Austin is to see who comes in second and third.

He's won every race in Indianapolis too, but at least (in MotoGP) he had to FIGHT for it. In Moto2 he was pretty untouchable though.

So if Marquez gets a win do you reckon Lorenzo lets him on top?

What is it with you people and all the homosexual imagery? Is it the pent-up feelings you have inside yourself coming to the surface?

Earlier this year Rossi said:

“To sign with Ducati, you need to be brave, you need big balls. So I think Lorenzo stays with Yamaha.”

And Jorge seems to have swallowed the bait…

Is this quote for real I picked it up off Motorcycledailly.com.

You can NEVER count the Doctor out! What a performance. By the way, did anyone catch the Moto3 race? I normally don't watch it, but it was on the DVR and a friend of mine gave me a "Head's Up." That was the most incredible performance I think I've ever seen in ANY class. Remember the name: Brad Binder. I suspect we'll be hearing that a LOT in the future.

Go Rossi! Beats all the Spaniards at Jerez. Nice. I'm still sore at him for crashing out in Austin.

Why the heck MotoGP doesn't have two races per event is difficult to figure. I'd be MUCH more likely to attend the live event again if that were the case. It adds so much to the contest, another chance to adjust and improve, another chance for those who crash out or suffer mechanical issues.

The other thing they ought to do is more clearly note the two different classes of machines on the track.

I noticed the the American Superbike/Superstock and Supersport machines now display the bike /rider # on the side of the belly pan, very easy to identify as the bikes are entering a turn. It's very difficult, next to impossible to see the numbers on any of the MotoGP bikes if your sitting at a turn. You have to be familiar with the different leathers in order to tell team mates apart. It was frustrating even for me.

Blake the reason I heard that bikes no longer have numbers on the sides is it takes away some of the advertising surface area. A few years ago someone rode a Gary Nixon tribute bike and many comments I read were from fans who said how nice and easy it was to follow the bike on the track. So you are not the only person who has mentioned this.

Moto 3.....Brad Binder is the man. Dead last to first and his first podium. Very impressive hope he continues do that well.

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/sport/motogp/2016/ma y/pedrosa-to-join-rossi-at-yamaha-viales-to-remain -at-suzuki/

Does that even make sense? If Yamaha wants to build for the future, hiring a rider only a couple of years younger than Rossi isn't it. I'm sure Dani has got a few competitive years left but he's older than Lorenzo. Wouldn't it make more sense to groom someone younger?

That hasn't been true since Colin Edwards retired. Both Smith and Espargaro were brought up from Moto2. Espargaro use to battle up front with Marquez regularly in that series but hasn't made much of an impression in the premiere class. Smith showed flashes of brilliance last year but seems to be lost this year with the spec ECU and Michelin tires.

Anyone know how Eslick got a Moto2 ride for LeMans? He finished out of the points, but he FINISHED whereas many more experienced riders crashed out this weekend.

Anyone know how Eslick got a Moto2 ride for LeMans?

Eslick said the deal was put together by his friend Michael Barnes, the 2016 Daytona 200 winner.

Google - it gives you the 411,

Pedrosa is confirmed to have re-upped with Repsol Honda. There are reliable (but unconfirmed) reports that Vinales will make the jump from Suzuki to Yamaha next season.

It was confirmed today that Vinales has made the switch to Yamaha for 2017. Also, Iannone will take his vacated slot at Suzuki. More pieces of the puzzle falling in to place.

I was hoping Marquez and Lorenzo would crash each other out. Marquez was on the verge.of losing control several times. Definitely an awesome finish.

I have to confess, I was hoping for the same thing with Iannone standing on the top step for once...

Seeing Rossi reminded of the year I was in Indianapolis watching Ben Spies DESTROY the field until he came down the front straight in a plume of white smoke...

Don't know if you noticed, but there were a lot of people who got up and left when that happened to Rossi. It was an exciting finish, but to the people in Italy they just didn't give a ****...
