That had to be one of THE best races I've been to. I cannot believe Mr Buell actually sat there with my son and I for the entire race today. It was like he was out there racing himself, the facial expressions were awesome. Not only that, but he signed the xb yesterday.

Erik was out meeting the fans again today and as always a class act. Geoff did really well despite the track being advantageous for higher HP bikes. Seeing the EBR bikes on the track and listening to Erik's commentary makes the race really special.

RA caters to higher HP bikes, period. It was designed by Ferrari guys so they could win because their cars couldn't handle but could out-power the competition. Those I4s love screaming down straightaways, and the fact that EBRs were in top ten places after chasing the yamis and suzis EBR did pretty damn good. Eslick is a very aggressive rider and he thrashes engines, hard. EBRs valvetrain couldn't take it and that's why Danny had a lot of DNFs last year. He may have done better this year in that Suzi, but I watched him start race 1 last year at the back of the grid due to engine problems. He made his way from dead last, passed Geoff, up to sixth place and closing on 5th before blowing the engine. If the1190s held up better last year Danny would have had a fantastic season, and it would have given us something comparable to this season. Remember, EBRs only got beat by two of the big 4 at RA during race 1 this year. Race two would have been the same had Geoff kept the rubber down. Not bad if you ask me. If EBR can eliminate two of the big 4 in only 2.5 years, they don't have very far to go at all.

Also last year was eslicks first year on slicks with a big bike, I would have loved to see another season of him on an EBR he was just getting conformable with the power at the end of the season.

EBR has a "LONG" way to go? Watch this, I think otherwise... just needs more power.

OK but I have heard that THIS TRACK CATERS TO I4 before sounds like it's part of racing to me. Eslick hasn't thrashed the bike he is on now? I don't think EBR has the correct power train for this kind of race and I am interested to see what the answer will be? Perhaps talk to the soon to be failed Motus folks or a V4?

ALL racers thrash their bikes, that's racing. If a racer wasn't riding his bike at 100% and trying to extract the last drop of performance from it he wouldn't be doing his job.

You also can't blame anything on a riders first year on slicks really. I've run race bikes where we have switched to slicks from 'road' tyres and they only make a fast rider faster.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the EBR bikes, they just don't have the resources or years of experience that yamaha and Suzuki have.....YET

It would be interesting to see how quickly a comparable twin such as the last of the Ducati 1198 models would go at the same track (I discount the Panigale because that is just too different). The KTM is doing well considering it is too long in the tooth now to be honest, and needs a proper upgrade to be in the same ball park as the other twins. It is no coincidence that the KTM isn't raced in many other Superbike series.

Superbike rules used to be written to favour twin cylinder machines remeber. Now that they are not the twins are suffering (look at every major Superbike series worldwide and you'll see the same thing).

Honda and Suzuki once built twins to try and beat Ducati, and it may be that the twin cylinder bike manufacturers now think about applying the same logic against the 4 cylinder bikes. If you can't beat them, join them ; )

So has Laverty & Guintoli, whcih goes to show how good the bike is!

The WSB spec RSV4 Aprilia is more MotoGP than the Aprilia CRT bike, with more powerand shorter engine life!

The Aprilia WSB spec RSV4 would be nowhere near legal for AMA Superbike (which is why there are none there) and has been less than competitive in other national superbike series.

I get it but Slick is doing so much better on the Jordan Suzuki than he did on the EBR and I am wondering why? I believe there is a power plant flaw it's good but it's not that good yet.

EBR needs to revise the 1190 to get more HP out of that twin. I think everything else on the bike is dialed in except its top end pull.

in AMA i almost believe that there is more bike then rider talent in the sence.example is Pegram
he could not get on podium with bmw or ducati, but then he moves to yamaha and now he is the 4th best rider.
cardenas is as good as he is he cant do any better then young with that bike.
if you guys think back to back when taynor knapp and cory west were ridiing the ebrs, they were finishing better then the ebrs in this year races

Like last year EBR is having teething(sp) problems, but h their perseverance showed though as the season progressed. Last year the first full year for the EBR 1190RS they scored a third in the manufactures championship. I would have preferred to see Eslick still on an EBR, but looking at the results I do not see a noticeable improvement on placement had the EBRs stayed together. I will always Cheer for Danny but he comes up second to my first choice for any EBR rider.

Probably because the only 2 races they've run this year have been at Daytona and Road America, both of which are high speed tracks favoring the inline 4's. It'll be interesting to see how things fall out at the tracks that favor the twins.

That is the best one yet! There is of course more than one Laverty brother : )

Eugene laverty rides in WSB..... Michael Laverty (his older brother) rides in MotoGP on a brand new CRT bike using British built chassis and Aprilia engine. They are basically having to test as the season progresses so even to beat anyone in MptpGP is a huge achievement for what is a tiny team.

Third brother John Laverty helps out Eugene in the pits and was also a top class racer until forced out by lack of finance this year : )

While Biaggi was at Aprilia nobody got the same kit as him, including his team mates. This year Laverty and Guintoli have equal machinery and it shows already as both are more competitive than any of Biggi's teammates were in the past (including Laverty last year).

While they may get to be competitive with other CRT bikes, the PBM team have NO chance of racing with Bradl on a factory Honda (the same as Pedrosa/Marquez) or the factory Ducatis, and are effectivley racing in a completely separate race for the CRT title.

It was a hard weekend for Walt, and I don't mean to speak for him, but here's a little insight to what he was facing all weekend.

We had to change to a bone stock motor Friday night, which is not ideal for the DSB class.
And then he was having issues with the front end, it seemed as though it was hydro-locking and not allowing full travel on the brakes. We worked with Ohlins Saturday night to get that resolved, and then on Sunday the front was pushing through the turn all day. If we had more time could we have tuned that out? Possibly, but we didn't have that and he just had to go ride through it.
I think he did a commendable job of riding as hard as possible while keeping it upright. Racing a bike with no confidence in the front is a taxing proposition.

It was unfortunate, and I know that Walt was not happy with the results. He ran faster in Q2 with very little seat time than he did in the races, and there was definitely more there, it just wasn't meant to be.

It also didn't help that the spun the rear tire on the wheel nearly 180* during each race.
We worked with Dunlop trying to get them dry mounted to avoid this for Sunday, but it happened again.
The front had slid back a couple inches also.


Not trying to make excuses, but there is always more going on that it seems on the outside.

Lol, Walt had my wife's attention for sure! It would be nice to see what he could with an 1190rs. It was obvious his bike was not 100%, but I give the guy a lot of credit for still fighting the fight.

As far as Eslick goes, I think he's great, but he will lose to an EBR this year.

the sad part for eslick is that he went to the JOrdan team, which has never been able to keep up with the M4 susuki teams.
it was Young and now Cardenas. Young should sign up with someone otherwise no one is going to want him next year.
