Another $200 just sent to Cory's paypal account from another generous supporter who wished to remain anonymous. It will show up as from me, but I am being reimbursed, so don't give me credit. The $3500 for Daytona is to cover just the tire costs for just that race series, and fill in a gap for a sponsor that jumped at the 11th hour. | ||

Cool picture a couple years ago when Danny, Dane and Cory captured the podium at Barber. I call it the Oklahoma Connection. Although Cory now calls Eureka Springs, Ar home he was born in Oklahoma City.  | ||

Badwebers, Seems we have finally have run out of contributers. Daytona is this weekend and we have done something great for Cory, Buell and the American way. I thank you for participating and hope that you all get the same satisfaction from this. Hopefully, with our help, Cory can clench a sponsor for the future after his run at Daytona and I do hope that this story surfaces for both Badweb and Cory's sake. Notoriety never hurts!  | ||

Glad I just happened to see this thread while eating lunch today. I plan to contribute $200 after I post this thread...but I want to share a Cory story first. Last September I took a little road trip from Denver to New Jersey to visit family. I planned the trip to coincide with the AMA races in Millville with the goal of taking my brother and three of his kids to see the races...which was going to be their first time to experience professional road racing. During the Daytona SportBike race we decided to hang out at turn 1. Several laps into the race we hear a crash with metal on asphalt...turning our heads to the sound we see Cory sliding through the corner into the grass...he was taken out by another riding not holding his line. Cory was understandably visibly upset. Turn 1 was also where the medical station was located. After refusing to ride the short distance in an ambulance...Cory hobbles across the track. Seeing my nephews standing on the chain linked fence in order to see what is going on...Cory says to them..."do you want a helmet?" He hands them his crashed helmet as he walks past...on the way to get treated. My nephews were the star of the show as many people gathered around to see the helmet. Later we wandered around the Paddock area to see if we could find Cory and thank him. He was obviously hurting...so I told him that the boys can just stand beside him...but he insisted on standing with the boys. Pretty hard for me to take a picture in Daytona when I am in Oklahoma, but I have been promised one as soon as the stickers get installed. I will post here ASAP. | ||

First practice Cory 11 th about 4.5 sec back of Hayes. Not bad first time out. I bet he will pick it up a bit this afternoon. | ||

Cory qualified 12th in today's qualifying session, but appeared to have had a problem late in the session. I should have a report in a little while. There is another session tomorrow. | ||
