those hoses aren't as clean looking as last years FUSA bikes, but they look larger -- functional thing I suppose.
had thought to make a mpeg for Sherm, but my old video card setup just creates avi files. 47 Meg for the 18 seconds of air time was a bit much. Next best thing I could do is create a bad jpeg for documentation purposes.

 as seen on Speed

Perhaps we need a race rep paint scheme direct from the factory, I personally would like that gray paint on the flanks of the Hal's bike, does any body know the ID number for that color

HydroDrive...No belt, no shaft, no chain, no pain!

Make it a reality in production and I will buy one. Make it two wheel drive like Yamaha's and I will be your first customer!

Haskovec Ends Honda Domination In AMA Formula Xtreme, Takes Pole At Barber

Copyright 2004, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc.

Honda’s factory riders - Miguel Duhamel, Ben Bostrom and Jake Zemke - have dominated the AMA Formula Xtreme class, taking all three pole positions and race wins thus far in the 2004 season. Honda’s domination ended Friday at Barber Motorsports Park, however, when Team Valvoline EMGO Suzuki’s Vincent Haskovec (1:27.793) rode a GSX-R600 equipped with a hand-cut, soft-compound Michelin slick to take his first pole position in the revised-for-2004 class.

“We got a late start (to the season). Everybody knows that,” said the likable immigrant from the Czech Republic. “Barry (McMahan, lead mechanic), Keith (Perry, team Crew Chief), everybody trying to catch up on the road. Michelin is trying hard too, and that is key because the bike hasn’t changed much. I hope the tires keep coming along.”

Honda riders Duhamel (1:28.046), Zemke (1:28.180) and Alex Gobert (1:28.960) also qualified on the provisional Formula Xtreme front row for Saturday’s 17-lap final.

Provisional AMA Formula Xtreme Qualifying Results:

Barber FX just finished: Cicotto 9th, Barnes 10th. Not bad, seems like they are in the hunt and reliable. With a little more power and some more exotic parts to take the weight down?

The two riders they have are fine, they have to work on the bike some more. Compare Michael Barnes Supersport times on his R6 and his FX lap times on his XB1350RR.

Anthony Gobert??? The guy is an alcoholic drug-driven flake with the odd glimmer of glory here and there.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Someone like Pascal Picotte, Eric Bostrom, Ben Spies or Jason DiSalvo might be a good choice for putting a Buell on the Podium.

Jim,
You are right. I just figured that GoShow could be had for cheap. You are right about the dope though. Best to leave that boy alone. Poor fool. He does have a hell of a lot of talent.

JQ,
I hope you are right, and I hope the Buells continue to improve. But no matter what bike you are on, it will be damn tough to beat Miguel and Jake.

420, they're racing 600s, not literbikes - pay attention.

170 indicated? LOL...we've gone over that before.

If balls out speed is cooler then sell your Firebolt and go get a Kawasuzondamaha.

We're not going to argue the differences in engine types and the reasons behind allowing the displacement disparity.

Again, if you're going to complain that your Firebolt is slow, sell it. And what precisely makes you think a digital speedo is necessarily more accurate than a needle. In any event, a R1, accorording to some tests I've looked up, is indeed capable of 170mph - at least on a dyno.

Who needs a 1000 IL4? Ben Spies just got pole on his puny GSXR750 in the Superstock class.

On the street, you can get yourself killed on a Vespa or on a GSXR1000, it's just a question of how fast it happens. And that its mostly up to you, choose wisely.

Absolutely. Different bikes are built to do different things. Choose the one you want.

If you are worried about the performance of a motorcycle at about more then twice the highest speed limit in the US, then you probably don't want a Buell. Fortunately for you, there are at least three other manufacturers building many bikes that do exactly what you want.

If you want a nice naked bike with good torque, outstanding handling, a short wheelbase, and that sounds "right", there is exactly ONE bike you can buy.

Don't ruin it for us... if we wanted GSXR1000's, we would have bought one... probably from somebody that lost their license or can't insure it anymore because they got tagged at 150 mph on it....

I want another bike... (not to replace the Cyclone, a second bike). It's top speed will probably be somewhere between 75 and 95 MPH... Go figure ; )

Ben Spies, former CMRA racer and Longview, Texas native KNOWS how to ride a motorcycle. I thought he was tuning up at OHR the last sprint race day there, but it turned out to be a friend of Ben's to whom Ben had loaned a set of tricked out custom leathers including the large "Spies" lettering displayed on the back.

I did see John Haner there, but he was just spectating and helping former team mates. And of course Michael Sanchez. yeah yeah, blah blah blah. : ) Sorry for digressing.

Actually Darth, the R1 is capable of damn near 180 mph or just a touch over it.

Have you seen the new R1 in the red color? One sweet looking bike & super light too.
