Really wanted to see that race. Eslick passing Hacking must have been great. I am glad to see Chaz Davis in the hunt. I was watching timing of Slick and Davis running together for a few laps. Davis leading then getting passed by Slick. Another good showing for Buell, RMR and Slick.

Okay where were the Ducatis?

MotoGT1 - "The Erics" - Pinson and Haugo - Liberty Waves Racing: 14 seconds in 2nd place after 60 laps - pretty cool!

James Gang DNF - crash! Hope whoever was in the saddle is OK!

From James Gang:

Jeff and the bike post crash. Each a little dinged up but both will be ready for Barber in a month.

I just saw a picture of Road Atlanta what is that CONCRETE wall doing at a race track, we might as well have a bike race at Bristol. I should ask how fast do riders go thru there?

Snowscum - yes, that IS a wall - but it is behind the protective Airfence. All the more reason we send the RRW Action Fund our hard-earned money each year. Saves lives and injuries.

Ask Vince Haskovec about the turn 5 K-Rail at Sears Point!!!

For the whiners: Slick's fastest lap in the race (1:30.021) was SLOWER than Herrin (1:29.919) and Peris (1:29.895) and DiSalvo (1:29.890)

It aint clear to me that Eslick is on THE FASTEST BIKE with some "unfair advantage."

As I was watching the live timing, the one thing that jumped out is that Eslick was consistent. His fastest lap was not even in the top five but he must have run a dozen or more 1:30.... laps. The others would hit a 1:29.8 here and there, but then back it up with a 1:31.2.

Knapp seems to be finding his way on the Buell. Only .065 from a podium finish. His best time was almost the same as Elsick's at 1:30.021 versus 1:30.028.

Chas Davis is also running about the same times as Eslick and Knapp with a best at 1:30.036. He had an off lap 1:34 something about mid-race that pushed him back in the pack. Knapp pasted him around that time. I can't wait to see the race in two weeks, ugh.

SO IF A RIDER IS MORE CONSISTENT, LAP IN LAP OUT, IS THAT THE BIKE OR THE RIDER?

I'd have to say both. Can't be consistent without a bike being setup well for the rider. Danny seem's to fit the Buell like a glove.

Buell Motor said today via press release that their 1125R is not the beneficiary of biased rules that "message boards and enthusiast websites" have inferred it to be.

What is your opinion of the Buell situation?

Buell is correct. DMG has devised a set of rules which "allow fair competition among many more brands". Press criticism of the rules or inferring that the rules were created so a Buell could win are a travesty. You should resign from the Fourth Estate.

DMG devised a set of rules where Buell's twin is allowed in Daytona SportBike but Ducati's similar spec twin is not. With a displacement and horsepower advantage written right into the rules, Buell is now beating the choked-off Japanese 600s, nothing more. Also, Mr. Buell, it might be less hollow for you to spout off about what constitutes the "American way" if the engine in the Buell 1125R wasn't made in Austria.
