Top finishers Eslick and Hacking were taking little jabs at each other in the post-race press conference. After the question was asked about what would it take to beat the Buell, Hacking commented that the biggest middleweight Kawasaki has is a 636, clearly making reference to the large displacement Buell.

Then Eslick jumped in and made mention of all the other Buells in the field that didn't finish up with them, effectively saying it wasn't as much the bike.

The cry babies and bitches have begun. Hacking's just pissed cause he got spanked by a young, faster, more talented kid.

Well, when the rules were set up last year, there were opportunities to use a dyno and a scale. And the GSXR750 and even the 636 could have been homologized. Hacking should talk to the people that he's contracted too.

I had the same talk with a friend of mine who is a big Aprilia fan. He said well maybe when Buell can make their own engines they can talk. What I cannot understand is why are Americans soo against the only American sport bike. Shouldn't Americans root the home team on!!!

I didn't realize that Aprilia made the engine in the RSV1000R that runs against the Buell. Learn something new everyday. Oh wait...

Yes, Goldrush, remind your nitwit buddy that Aprilia buought their RSV1000 engine from Rotax and bought EVERY engine for every Aprilia bike (some Rotax, some Suzuki, some from other manufacturers) until Piaggio bought them. In fact they really are using Piaggio engines now, I guess. And that was when Aprilia was making 200,000+ motorcycles and scooters per year.

But Buell is a piece of crap when at 10,000 bikes per year they have a bigger company build their engine. Oh, and it is a Buell engine, not one that Rotax makes and sells to others. Whereas the RSV1000 Mille engine is also in other products, since it's a Rotax motor not an Aprilia motor.

Since Piaggio is the parent company, yes they use Piaggio engines. Along the same lines, Buell uses Harley engines. The only thing wrong with your conclusion is that Aprilia's current Superbike motor was designed and built in-house by Aprilia.

Whereas the RSV1000 Mille engine is also in other products, since it's a Rotax motor not an Aprilia motor.
Aprilia used to have an exclusive agreement with Rotax, just like Buell does now, not to use the motor in any other vehicles. But, Aprilia and Rotax ended that exclusive deal back in 2004. So the Mille motor is now in the Spyder.}

I think its great that Buell-haters need to find reasons to down Buell now, because they have lost the reason that they are not competitive in Pro racing.

Uh, Diablo, you can really twist around what a guy has to say, can't you? You should read and understand what someone writes in plain english.

If I have to actually 'splain it to you...

You should CAREFULLY read Imonabuss' post and then read yours.

You are obviously more conversant than I on the agreement. That is not at all what I understood it to say.

What do you base your knowledge of the BRP Rotax / Buell contract on?

AMA Pro Daytona SportBike

I don't see 600cc in the title of that series.

Like it or not, it will be pointed out that Buell had almost twice the displacement.

Then they should put a competitive Vtwin on the track with the Buell and stop whining.

Seems DMG wouldn't let Ducati and KTM in this class.

Ducati and KTM are allowed in the class, as is BMW. And Aprilia.

Go away troll boy and do your homework.

Anony, yes KTM and Ducati are allowed in,but not with their 1098 or RC8, why is that? I know why and so do most other motorcycle enthusiast. You Buell employees need to be a little less sensitive.

Dale, you must also know that the original rules proposed for an even larger variaty of bikes to particapate. Also they provided a hp limit (enforced by dyno). This was to limit costs so that privaters could be competative, and the factory teams would not dominate the series. The coalation of japanese motorcycles didn't want dyno restrictions (how could they cheat). All of the models specified fell within the hp limits, with the Buell probably being restricted like in motost. So the current rules are what the Big 4 pushed for and agreed upon. So they have no reason to complain now. Brian

AMA Pro Road Racing rider Jamie Hacking has been suspended indefinitely following this weekend's event at Auto Club Speedway for conduct detrimental to the sport of professional motorcycle racing. The culminating incident occurred in the Auto Club Speedway media center following post-race interviews on Sunday where Hacking used a string of profane language while exiting the press interview area. Prior to this incident, Hacking displayed additional acts of inappropriate behavior in both public and media interviews.

Hahahaha

I remember in a recent interview in Sport Rider magazine, Hacking was talking about getting back on his ZX-10R Superbike after a stint on the Kawi MotoGP ZX-RR (rest in peace). Here's the clip from that article:

quote:

The afternoon lap times didn't change much. The team made only small adjustments. The bigger adjustment came when Hacking had to ride his Monster Kawasaki ZX-10R Superbike. He said he wanted to put Buell stickers on it. "It's like jumping out of a Ferrari and jumping in my motor home," Hacking said.

I remember being pissed off at this comment, and hoping one day that a Buell would hand him back his words.

It's unbelievable how swift justice can be...

BTW, that article was entitled "Pit Pass - Monster Kawasaki's Jamie Hacking - Rejuvination?" by H.R. Abrams, Sport Rider Magazine (don't have the exact date, sorry).

Looks like the pacifier idea would be helpful here.

I have not read one report from Ducati or KTM fans complaining about the Buell. All the bitching about Ducatis have come from the 600 fans when they lose the argument about cc not being the only determining factor. Ducati wants to compete with the 848, not the 1098. What would they gain from competing with a lame duck when they are introducing a new bike in superbike. As for KTM they have not fielded a superbike either so I do not think they are looking at AMA at all. BMW has a legal four valve per cylinder twin with a 50cc advantage over the Buell but no one has entered one like they did in Moto ST. Aprilia is there with a bike only 125cc smaller than the Buell and are doing well. I hope to see more from the Triumph folks too. The more the merrier. So please, quit making up shit just to try to defend a loser's position. You sound like Hacking and the world now knows what a pathetic and poor loser he is.

I wonder if KTM isn't there because they don't have enough units in the US to pass homoglation.

Xb984R- Not all Anony posters are employees. I for one would be amazed if that person is a Buell employee mainly for the fact I have yet to meet anyone that rude to another Buell enthusiast. I could be wrong but it doesn't seem to fit the norm.

Looking at the qualification times, why are the Supersport 600cc slower than the Sportbike 600cc ??

Is it the tyres or different rules for the 600cc for these classes ?

Unfortunately I know little about the AMA, so someone please explain...

In addition, it's well established that displacement alone is but a single factor considered.

As I've pointed out . . . . my 5.4 Liter pickup truck has nearly double the displacement of an Indy car.

Number of cylinders is a biggie but the biggest thing in money.

The Buell probably cost 2% of what some of those 600's did and they make no secret about running parts that no one can buy.

You can walk in your dealer and buy an 1125R, and with a few parts from the BUELL CATALOG, have the same bike that won.

Hacking knows the rules. If he is not mature enough to play by them and act like an adult send the baby back to the minor leagues. Frankly, during that press conference, he was an embarrassment to the sport of motorcycling in general and his sponsors as well.

He'll be history.

I am going to take the opportunity to write his sponsors about his comments and suspension and suggest it reflects poorly on their products.
