Thank God he's o.k.

He's a really nice guy who really appreciates a cold brew at the end of the day.

He's helped me at the track and I'll always be a big fan of his.

Why do people not realize that the 1125R will be racing against the liter bikes too.

Erik,

Thats what I've been wondering also. Jeremy is a development rider for the 1125R. It reads that he is only testing Race Kit Parts. But they have ben throwing times down in two classes?????

Glad he is OK!

Any anony's care to chime in with what failed? (knowing full well the trolls will punish you for it, but the other 99.99999% of us will love to be closer to the race effort).

Ignore people who don't race criticizing a race effort... I'm impressed with *anyone* racing at that level. Incredible stuff, and those pictures above bring it home.

I can remember this "rain on the parade" douche bag from the XBRR intro. Find some place else to hide troll! You make no mention of the fact that the Aprilia RSV100R, BMW HP2 Sport, KTM Super Duke, and Ducati 848 are involved in this class, and three of the four of those are purpose built race bikes. And the KTM is damn close. Must have been a minor oversight on your part, huh?

I might not be expecting wins right away, but I've seen the Richie Morris team at work in the Moto-ST series. They are a very determined, passionate, and most importantly personable squad. They will be working for peanuts, and on a shoestring budget compared with the rest of the teams ahead of them in those test standings!!

GO BUELL RACING!!

BMW Hp2 Sport. Air cooled twin. Absolutely rocked in the 200 last year. What a race!

What is a "purpose built race bike"? It seems this is the standard knock on ANY bike that is more capable at speed on a track.}

It seems that the real development for the 1125R has just started.

Lets wait and see what this bike is capable of.

Racing the 1125R will definately improve the production bikes as well. Whether the 1125R is 1st or last, is irrelevant. The 1125R will get better and better.

Go BUELL !

"pioggia di parata" is italian for "rain on the parade"
WRONG, it makes no sense in italian
literally is "rain of the parade" and it means nothing logic , also...there is NO slangs (in my opinion)using this expression.
bye Alessio

No offense XB984R, but if you think that Ducati doesn't build purpose built race bikes with headlights, you're kidding yourself. They build street bikes for the sole purpose of meeting homologation requirements, and funding racing efforts. And the Aprilia RSV100R is still basically the same motorcycle Aprilia used to meet their homologation requirement when they still raced World Superbike!

You can buy the BMW HP2 Sport today for less than $26,000 street ready, with a 3 three year full warranty with roadside assistance. I know the bikes that raced the 200 last year. They were not far from stock, even had the turn signal switch gear.

...I think Pioggia raises some valid points...

perhaps Rubberdown, but he/she could/should do so in a more mature, non-trollish fashion.

folks, every time one of you feeds a troll, it comes back stronger and louder.

if you want the troll to truly go away, do not feed it - they HATE to be ignored.

glad Barney is ok.

go Buell.

The BMW was a blast to watch and it is precisely stuff like that the makes watching all this so fun.

I was even more thrilled when they took the 2 Buells from the demo fleet in Germany and put both of them on the podium.

Buell, and it's nothing short of amazing considering that Buell is a company a fraction of the size of Ducati and 1,000,000th the size of Honda, is doing some really exciting stuff.

I said, after the Daytona XBRR debut, that Buell would be one of THE big names in racing within 5 years . . . . no reason to think any different.

Schmitty, only one of the four bikes you mentioned is a purpose built race bike and that is the BMW.

Honda builds race street bikes out of a separate factory from their street bikes. So, whether it was a CBR600F3 to the current CBR600RR, there were always two kinds of bikes. The ones that most of us got from the showrooms and salvage yards. Then there were the ones that Erion/Two Brothers, Andrew Nelson, and American Honda got. When those bikes were claimed in the past, the owners always had a hard time supplying the OEM bodywork that was required of them...because they come with race bodywork. No headlights, etc.

Personally, I think the XBRR went pretty well. I am not a long time Buell owner or racer. I did get to race against an XBRR a few times in 2007 while I was taking time out from four cylinders with an SV1000. Needless to say, I never thought that I'd see a Buell go that fast.

There were plenty of people that complained about it, but, hey, it is what it is. Push rods and all. Made for some new interest to me in the decades that I've been involved in all this.

I really wish that Roger would have had the opportunity to develop this years ago so that I could have reaped the benefits as a rider. The AMA racing program has always been kind of like hearing someone show up at your door saying, "We're from the governement. We're here to help." I mean, you always hope it goes well, but it never works that way. In the recent past, there has seldom been a good financial reason to invest a lot of time in AMA racing. Yeah, when we all go there, we're thinking, "I'll test myself against the best, get noticed, etc." But it doesn't work that way. No equity in investing in your team that way. I think the new program, because of a attainable, enforceable set of rules by a sanctioning body not afraid of showing cheating for what it is, in addition to offering a lucrative purse, will succeed.

I wish it happened ten or twenty years ago.
