Not only did the pushrod air cooled XBRR win the Pro Twins championship over 1098s, 999's, Milles, etc., with Bruno Destoop riding, Dennis Bouane just won the prestigious Moto Tour event in France for the second year in a row! On an XB12STT, over all brands, including factory supported KTM Super Dukes, BMW HP2, Triumph, Benelli, and factory supported Japanese.

Can we have a celebration for truth over hype here? Or will this turn into another Buell-bash bullshit session? The XB12STT deserves so much more respect than the cookie cutter chasers gave it...

Here are the top 40 finishers. It was also on the cover of Moto Journal, and on french prime time TV.

COOL!!! I know I've been feeling like a better rider since I got my STT in May. I've owned a bunch of bikes over the last 30+ years, but the STT is the most fun corner-carver I've ever owned.

That's great! having 2 Buells in the top 10 of the Moto Tour would be amazing in itself, but to have won.........WOW!

Congrats to the teams in the pro twins too!

Good Show guys! Buell has a lot to crow about this year and the future looks very bright for Buell Racing, and us as
Buell riders.

Thank you all so much for the positif support; it was a lot of good work by the rider and the whole team. I have some photos and even a video (great riding clips), but no idea how to connect them up to here. Will try to find out how. If not maybe you can find MotoJournal's web site to get at least the cover photo with a big wheelie?

That is way cool . . . that's what they call the "proof in the putting" . . . as in putting the rider atop the podium.

This is excellent news!

My only problem with the TT had nothing to do with the TT... it's the perfect bike for me. The problem is that my 9sx is *such* a great bike also, and it was first : )

CONGRATULATIONS to Denis Bouan!

OK Anony, you got me chasing articles with Google translating (can't find much info in English) - the following is a Google translation from one French site: http://moto.caradisiac.com/Dark-Dog-Moto-Tour-2007 -Nouvelle-victoire-de-Buell-427

(and to think, he's using the number plates on that TT for ... NUMBERS!)

quote:

And two! Denis Bouan, like last year, has included coats topping Buell Motorcycle valued Tour, bringing XB12TT to its former glory in terms of competition road. A victory without hesitation, the driver who took orders from the outset to do virtually the release. Only a freedom-loving belt on the route of Alès did frighten the taking of the test. Apart from that, she has encountered any problem the Buell ...

This victory allows Denis Bouan to rank third in the International Rally Championship 2007. Second pilot of the team Buell France champion and new Pro-Twin, Bruno Destoop expire at a very creditable eighth position. » Not without humor, he enjoys his career in the following way: "I have not done better than last year, but Denis either! "

Good things come in threes told, and that is precisely the challenge that required the team manager Xavier Chachuat for next year: "I am obviously very happy! Le prochain challenge de Denis sera de s’imposer une nouvelle fois l’année prochaine. The next challenge will be to win Denis again next year. Aucun pilote n’a encore remporté le Moto Tour trois fois de suite ! » Chiche ! No driver has yet won the Moto Tour three times in a row! "Chiche!

Classement : Rank:

1er Denis Bouan (Buell) 1 Denis Bouan (Buell)

2e Jehan d’Orgeix (Honda) à 21’’56 2nd

3e Philippe Donischal (KTM) à 22’’95 3rd

4e Frédéric Lejeune (BMW) à 23’’75 4th

5e Wilfried Tallone (Suzuki) à 40’’35 5th

6e François Flick (Triumph) à à 1’11’’42

7e Benjamin Colliaux (Suzuki) à 1’13’’21

8e Bruno Destoop (Buell) 1’15’’ 36 Bruno

9e Bertrand Stey (Honda) à 1’20’’84 9th

10e Nick Ayrton ( Benelli ) à 2’25’’13.

I have to admit, google translation is a little clunky but it's a useful tool for interpreting European websites! (Besides I work with engineers who are harder to understand!)

Do any of our French Speakers - Canadians, eh? know how to shoot Bruno and Denis a congratulatory email? It would be trés cool to let him know that some of us on this side of the pond are enthused!

I met Denis at the Paris moto show earlier in the month. Really nice guy and seemed surprised to hear that there was so much talk about him and his achievements here on BadWeb. I didn't ask for his contact info but I did give him the address for the site but I have a feeling that if he did show up around here he would have a hard time. When I spoke to him we had to find one of the folks at the HD/Buell display area that could speak english.

There ARE translation sites (google, freetranslation.com) that are very usable. If BOTH parties know that it is a computer translation, it's NOT BAD!!

Send a note in your native language AND the machine translation. It's kind of fun actually.

I buy/sell some collectible cameras to Europe through Ebay and it's been great.

I'd like to see if there'd be a way to let them know that what they're doing IS being noticed "over here."
