Mike Hale and Jeremy McWilliams were both on XBRRs -- which were directly derived from the XB12R. The rear subframe on an XBRR is a slightly modified (tabs removed, etc.) XB12R piece, and you can bolt a stock XB12R seat and replica stock bodywork on it -- which is slightly lighter, and gives the rider a little more room to move around. On a short course, the aerodynamic advantage of the big tail isn't enough reason to definitely run it. |

Nice to see things coming together for the race effort. Speed TV had a decent (~1 minute) segment during the race following Jeremy on the XBRR and they made some favorable comments about the bike and him. Oh yea, the exhaust note from the XBRR was very clear while the bike was on screen and it sounded SO much better than those buzzing mosquito I-4's! Go Buell! Awsum result for the Buell. Great job by Jerremy. Hey now if we can get to a podium sometime that would be the best. Lots of other bikes way behind the Buell. I bet McWilliams was even happy with the result. Keep it up fellas. |

Congratulations to the Warr's Buell Racing team and Jeremy McWilliams for their excellent work out @ Laguna Seca. I am confident that we will see Buell at the podium soon enough. I must admit I was disappointed at the lack of coverage of the Buell bikes and the impact Buell is having on the racing circuit. It will be difficult to ignore Buell Racing when we're placing 5th place and above. It's just a matter of time... GO BUELL!!! -Ras |

The TV feed was not controlled by SPEED TV, but rather Dorna, which covers MotoGP, so the commentators just talked about whatever came on the screen. They were not too friendly to the Buell when the camera started following it around, as I picked up on some sarcasm from Fast Freddie when he saw it...a laugh actually. The other guy then commented that for McWilliams to be running a "respectable" 7th on a Buell, it was a tribute to just how good McWilliams was. I think the Buell may have been running 7th at that time, with Gobert having to make his stop and go due to his ridiculous jump at the start. He really was the last of the factory boys and seemed to be able to run McWilliams down easily to reclaim 7th position. It was kinda hard really trying to follow McWilliams on the ticker, but I noticed that he was turning 130's - 131's and still ahead of Gobert, and then on the lap Go-show passed him on he turned like a 133+. Then after Go-show passed him, he was back in the 130's. I have no idea what happened on that lap, but it must not have been good for McWilliams. It didn't matter much as the leaders were waaaay ahead by that point and still turning several seconds faster laps. McWilliams was not able to run with Gobert when he went by, but was very competitive with the privateer guys...kicking butts actually. My dreams of a podium for McWilliams may just remain that with this bunch...they are so fast. Bostrum and DiSalvo could have raced in the Superbike race with their times, and had a respectable finish. I will be rooting for the Buells at Mid-Ohio with my Warr's T-shirt on! That ought to make McWilliams smile when he sees it...probably won't be too many of those in the crowd. Go Buells! I hope you'll all take a moment to drop JOHN WARR a note and say "Thank You". He's made a tremendous commitment to Buell Racing. |

McWilliams was doing an interview on UK Eurosport while the MotoGP qualifying was on and made a bit of a verbal slip up. He was asked how the weekend was going for him and he said something to the effect... 'We have a little work to do on the thing...I mean our bike'. Was that a term of endearment I wonder. |

Just a grammatical clarification. You know how the English feel about their English. Now don't use that remark as a Trojan Horse for trouble making! |

Did you notice the guy accusing everybody else of already using traction control. I think it was somebody with Erion Honda. |

Erion is such a whiner! The guy gets the very best factory support from Honda, and still attacks everyone else: Buell, and now Yamaha and Suzuki. This on an approved item?! He is such a waste of air. The AMA approved traction control because so many folks were already using it and it couldn't be found! Of course Buell isn't using it because we can't afford it (and don't have the folks to tune/run it anyhow). Oh, but we are cheating in some other way, aren't we Kevin? Everyone has it so easy except for poor Kevin (waaaaah). |

It will not be long before Kevin Erion is using traction control too, you can take that to the bank. Just sent John Warr a note of appreciation. Everybody ought to! jimidan |

Yes, Kevin Erion was whining quite a bit about not having traction control, but I'll bet they will have it soon. The decision to allow it was only made last week. Buell and Harley can't afford it? Ha! Harley has a BILLION in cash in the bank. Harley doesn't want to afford it. |

>>>Harley has a BILLION in cash in the bank. So do 3 of the 6 people in my wife's office. Giv'em a call and tell them you want $3M to go racing. Having it and spending it are quite different and not very logical. In fact, I shake my head everytime someone who gripes about a $9 cheeseburger at lunch doesn't blink about chartering 3 jets to fly to Mykonos to throw a birthday party. Buell, like most folks is racing, is going to have the SELL the program and EARN the sponsorship backing. Progress to date will aid that. |
