After four years and 27,000 miles+, hey, I share mileage with two other bikes, : ), I LOVE my Uly as much, or more, than day 1. A great motorcycle! Fast, nimble, smooth, comfortable, great luggage and on and on. Thank you Erik, et al. I had a great ride today and can't wait until the next! : )

I agree with you... rolled into the office today thinking man I love this puppy! I have only managed 11k miles in the last 12 months since I bought my XT and damn what a great bike.

I also get the benefit of riding over the Appalachian trail on the way to work each day into Northern VA which lets me really enjoy the capabilities of this unique machine!

Its is a fun bike. I just got mine this spring ('06). I've been riding for almost 40 years and have owned a lot of motorcycles in that time. I'd have to say the Uly is truly a special bike that is VERY fun to ride and a very capable bike too. In the old days we didn't have bikes like this, it's a new category and a new type of riding for me. Only downer is that I'm not sold on reliability yet based on some of the troubles I've read about here. But so far she hasn't left me stranded in my first few thousand miles (bike has 8300 miles total now). Keeping fingers crossed...

Absolutely!

Last week marked my first year of ownership. I haven't had so much fun riding in a long time. My Harley rarely leaves the garage these days, the Uly gets almost all of my saddle time.

I have run many miles on many a bike and NONE have done so much for so little money? In fact none have bettered the Uly no matter what they cost.

I have now spent 6 years on these bikes so I think I know them well enough. I never give 10/10 on anything but the Uly is 9/10 in all respects but that is just my opinion. Why?

Well apart from the odd part quality issue this is a well built and spec bike. I do not even agree with the wheel bearing issue either as just checking them once in a while should sort the issue. It is also cheap to fix as well if needed.

No bike in this size/class, at the time, had fully adjustable suspension or of the quality of the Showa system. AND remote rear pre-load as well? This sort of stuff costs BIG money on new bikes and will fail very soon on many a Jap bike.

The point is that once you start looking closely at the bike you see how good it is and it is improved as it gets to the 10 version.

Yes the Uly is a strange bike but only to those who do not know bikes or mechanics. It is in fact a combination of high tech bike design, style and quality that today you will not find at 3 times the price of a used Uly.

One thing is for sure. They are still making FI bikes with fueling issues that a well running/sorted Uly does not have. I know as my 06 and 10 bikes were perfect.

Thumper1203. I only offer facts to this forum about this bike. I have no time for crap bikes and would say so if needed.

The true nature of this bike is very special. It is one of those things in the bike world that only comes around once in a while. Call it luck or judgment but if you have one just keep it.

I've had mine since March 2010, bought used from a fellow badwebber. It had 6008 miles on it when I picked it up. Now it has just over 19k on the odo. I was looking at a cruiser a while back and the sales man asked if I was planning to trade in the XT. Before I could stop myself I laughed in the man's face.

No, I may get another bike but I'll keep my XT in the stable for as long as I can ride.

I didn't get a chance to ride over the weekend but I got mine out tonight after work. Too bad it was getting dark and the temp was dropping rapidly...thank goodness for the heated grips and the LED running lights. I still need to go to the HID conversion kit, though. I have to chock off the back wheel with a brick to keep the bike from walking itself out of the garage, but once it's moving the bike is beyond reproach. The chicken strip on the right side of the back tire can't be more than 1/8 inch, but I swear it never feels like I'm leaning over that far...on my ZX10R that would felt downright dramatic. Yeah, I love this thing.

Very cool video Fotoguzzi. Thanks.

We're all very lucky folks! Uly's are definitely special bikes. I have a new 2014 Indian Chieftain, that I really like and enjoy riding BUT, my Uly is equal to the Chieftain in it's respective category. I like all kinds of bikes and thankfully I'm fortunate enough to have these two exceptional bikes. I have another very cool, and special to me, bike, but these two are really something. I rode the Uly today and it excelled! : )

Looking forward to many more years, and MANY more miles, of Uly enjoyment! : )

Fotoguzzi, I like the "muffler train" in the background to match the muffler under the bike. : )

I bought my Uly from a local(sort of) badwebber, May 2010.
Frank really set me up with lots of extras, bike had 12k on the odo.
Initially I wanted it so I could take my wife on rides, she refuses to get on my 1125R.

As soon as I started riding it I started falling in love.
My 1125, bought new Dec07 has 28k, the Uly(2009 MY) now has a tad over 30k.
The Uly is my daily rider for everything from commuting to grocery store runs.

BTW, it's winter here too -

Just changed oil and put mine in the corner as rained and snowed today.
Happier times this summer.

Being a rookie bueller myself, I can only agree with all great bike statements. Been on many bikes in the younger years, but had a gap of about 10 years for various reasons, but now on a 07 Uly.

Got it about 3 months back with 5k on the odo, and it ran like crap just coming out of the local HD dealer after service. Started working on it myself by help of Google and forums, so after changing intake seals, TPS, plugs, and adjusted timing, I slipped on a Drummer SS and an EBR ECM along with a comfort kit. *Almost* smooth as silk now : ) Remaining to do the breather reroute and service the fuel pump, but after that I expect it to be better than new.

Kudos to everyone here that have helped out (and still doing) over the years, it'd be hard to be left all by yourself with these bikes. This forum is an incredible source of info, it seems whatever you're up against there will be someone in here that has fixed it before!

Absolutely no plans of parting with this bike anytime soon : ) And, summer is on the steps...
