My uly key was stolen. I do have a spare but whats the best way to get a duplicate. Do I have to order one from hd or can walmart make a duplicate. | ||

A locksmith is your best bet. I had a locksmith copy mine and he said the blank was for a Triumph. I still haven't had luck duping my luggage keys though. | ||

You can get a pair of brand new Buell keys at a dealer for $20, or you can get a generic copy based on your original at any locksmith or anywhere else that cuts keys. It is not a rare/unusual size, so anyone with a decent selection of automotive blanks would have it. | ||

I couldn't find the correct blank at the local building supply stores, but most locksmiths will have it. If you don't want to wait to get the look-a-like blank with plastic, you can use an ILCO X270 key blank. The key for the bags, if you need that, is an Ilco 1637. I misplaced my spare key when on a trip (found it later) and figured I better get one made ASAP, lest I lose the other one too. We were vacationing at Copper Head Lodge in the mountains of NE Georgia. I looked up the blank number on Badweb and tried a Home Depot and a local hardware store in nearby Blairsville, GA (NOT a big town); neither had it. Went to the local locksmith (a mom & pop operation) and he had plenty of them. | ||

I bought the ilco x270 blank off fleebay, and had a local lock smith copy it for me. Works fine. |
