I think it's pretty damn cool. Probably very pricey though.

There are several build threads on ADVrider on similar Sportster conversions. Some not nearly as comprehensive and some very close.

I think it's ugly but cool at the same time. I wish I were that creative and could do that kind of work! No cobble jobs on that one.

Cool bike.
I'm happy to see and read about it, but that's as far as it goes for me.

I think I agree as well. It's not my style of bike (thus XT owner) but it looks to be done right and with the right components.

I'm guessing that exhaust is fairly hot as well.

He's going to change the exhaust so he can run panniers. Great idea, why you could put a wide flat single muffler under the engine!! What a concept!

why oh why? You cannot possibly tell me that will be better than a GS1200, KTM or Yamaha in any respect other than being different for the sake of it, and certainly no better than a Ulysses anyway if you really must have an H-D motor in a dual sport bike.

For the price that thing costs you could probably have a fully dressed GS1200 with luggage etc.

Some people just have too much time on their hands : )

Looks like the rear supsension came straight from some late 70's Husky desert racer.

(Not that would be a bad thing...)

Trojan has it summed up nicely.

I will add; he did it, because he could...

If the GS 1200 was the last big trallie left I give up riding. Best part about owning a Dual Sportster is the GS crowd generally avoids us HD scum like the plague.; )

That is cool, unique and nicely done. The exhaust and air filter were the first two things that caught my eye and made me think what would happen in a right side crash. I don't know think that air filter would do well riding through water either. I would like to see his re-done exhaust. I would love to see somebody put a 21" spoked front, and a 18" rear on a Uly. I don't know how it would work with the rake of the frame.

I like it I know H-D dealers out west who have been trying to get Harley to build that bike for 25 years.

That is a fine looking machine,I would be a tad bit concerned about those throttle cables flopping around in the breeze.

I'd love to take that bike for a good flogging. It looks really tough to me. Personally I think the Sportster engine is a nicely engineered power-plant that is well sorted out. At least you don't have to mess with valve adjustments and primary chain adjustments are rare unless you absolutely beat the engine to death. Beautiful looking bike to my eyes at least.

My wife rides a 2007 XL1000Roadster. I'd really like to purchase those pegs they have on that dual sport sportster. Love the way they are mounted. Very nicely done.
