I'm riding to CT for a wedding in July, and will likely need new tires and pads when I get there. Can anyone recommend a good service shop, preferably in the Hartford area?

There are/were three dealers in CT. Gengras HD is actually in Hartford if you're looking for close. The next closest is TSI HD in Ellington which would take another 20-30 minutes. Danbury HD is furthest but possibly on the way if you're riding up from the south or west. What they actually stock would be another matter, pads maybe, tires I'm not so sure. On the one hand, they could do a dealer search if they don't have what you need. Another option for generic parts that's close is Cycle Gear in Manchester. They have some tires in Buell size and can mount & balance on the premises, but not "while you wait". Don't know if they have pads that fit but that would require someone else or yourself to install.
Don't know how long you're staying but if the timing's right I might be able to lend a hand with the easy stuff, I'm about 25 minutes south of there. Unfortunately I don't know of any independent shops in that area, but maybe someone closer does. Keep us updated with your travel plans and we'll try to help.

I use Danbury when I need something beyond what I can do in my garage. They do good work and are familiar with Buells.

Just a suggestion, but I'd change the pads before you leave if they are likely to get too thin before you are back home.
Not expensive, and takes about 15 minutes with no special tools or knowledge.
Once you've done it, 10 of thos 15 minutes will be enjoying a beverage after you are done.
This is assuming your rotors are OK and you are not having any braking issues.
Tires should be safe on the road

Thanks for the replies and suggestions! I've had a couple of recommendations for TSI and they're close to my destination so I'll give them a try. If they can't accommodate me, I'll go to Danbury. For peace of mind, I'm replacing the pads this week even though they're probably/maybe thick enough for the trip. Better safe than sorry.
