I know many of you have reached this mileage milestone, but I had to post it anyway:

The green light on top is my voltage monitor http://bit.ly/UwrRHZ.

The green switch on the right is for my low-beams (it turns red when its off).
I have done the "both headlights on" mod, so I the way I have it rigged I have all four options: both on, either on or both off.
I always shut down and start the bike up with both headlights off

50K is pretty nice. At least 50 more to go.

Nice, mines stuck at 42 and some change. Since I bought the Caponord I haven't really ridden it.

I have an 6 with 50K on it. The last big problem was replacing the ECM. Took a little bit to come to that conclusion.

I remember my 50K mile point on my '06. Back then I had visions of 100K miles easy. Stupid deer...

Yeah Dr Greg. I am still on that vision quest but man! I am just not riding enough these days. I rolled over 50k in July 2010 and today I am still just shy of 60k. I need to kick this cold and go for a 400 mile ride! If not I am going to have to start counting time instead of mileage. By the way, October 1st Dr G. I passed seven years with the Uly and thought of you.

These bikes are amazingly good. I have had MANY a costly and exotic bike an none were as good as this in any way.

Ok so they can have a few problems but so does many a bike. Thats just life and something the true biker knows and deals with. I see no reason not to get 100k and/or 10 years plus out of this bike. It may need some work though but what would not. Enjoy and look after your Uly because the like will not come this way again any time soon.

I agree, at 50K miles its still running great and not burning a drop of oil.

It's fun to ride, and I have had people with expensive cars and motorcycles come up to me and want to chat about my bike, I think that's kind of cool.

Looking forward, if the engine goes bad I plan on fixing it. If I get the Uly replacement from EBR, its still staying in my stable.

The main ones were the throttle shaft, ECM and rear rocker cover gasket. They all happened within months of each other at around 35K ... a few thousand miles after I purchased it. In hindsight the rocker cover gasket and ECM were that way when I bought it, they just worsened over time.

I had a period there at the beginning where I was wondering if I had made a bad purchase. I think If I didn't do my own wrenching and would have had to pay a Harley mechanic I would have been very unhappy.

I have had other things, like the rear bearing, but I consider those maintenance items.

I am considering flying my 2006 (1st registered Feb 2008)Ulysses, 19100 miles on it, from Amsterdam to KL in Malaysia and doing that country, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. It would be well prepared with new wheel, headrace and swingarm bearings, fork seals. But you just don't know when something electrical is going to fail. I so wish the bike had Japanese electrics. I agree with you about bearings being service items. Keep Buelling!!

Some of the electronics are Japanese. I wish I could go along on that ride. Have fun.

As for me, tried to get 60,000 miles today but just ran out of time. I have another 300 miles to go to get there. Had to jump the bike to get going but after that the bike ran beautiful. Seven years and two months and still love riding that bike, especially in weather like today (50-60 degrees and sunny).
