Yeah, but you can get a full set of Contis for the price of a front D616.

Just sayin'.

I agree with your point, Ft_bstrd, and I'm thinking about buying a set. I was just adding an extra data point into the mix.

Had a set on my XT. Really liked them at first, though the handling was a bit blocky - like you really had to put more effort into the lean.

They seemed to be wearing fine, but the handling got a lot worse and unpredictable after a few thousand miles. Then the front started losing air. Couldn't find a hole - appeared to be a bad bead.

Since I didn't exactly love the tires, I replaced them with a set of Bridgestone BT023's. So far I'm really pleased. Time will tell how long they last.

I have a set of Shinkos on my DR 650 ('91), so not the same tire. But, I have handling issues after 1000 miles. The Uly has Pilot 2s and handle fine.

Discochris: Had a set on my XT.

Chris, are you talking about Conti Motions or Shinkos? Thanks!

I cautiously second the Contimotion recommendation. My Uly came with a set mounted (like new), and they are superb in the twisties. I was going o remove them ASAP for a set of 2CT's, but no longer. We'll see how they wear...
