Like the subject says I want to purchase a good mesh jacket with a removable liner so I can use in in more than one season.
Right now I ride in very hot weather (90 to 110 degrees almost all summer).
I was told Olympia is a good way to go, the owner of the company rides so the jackets are pretty well thought out, what do you guys think of this one:

We have worn Olympia for several years.

Hi Viz Yellow in both the Airglide and AST & AST2.

Been down twice in the Airglide.

Still looks good and is safe to wear.

David, I bought that exact jacket a couple of months ago. I got the hi viz black and yellow.

Pro: VERY visible, good airflow, inner liner for cool days or rain, very adjustable, good armor.

Cons: high collar, cell phone pocket only holds small phone not smart phone, large is a just a bit baggy but not too bad. Back zipper is wrong orientation to use with buell pants. Bought their mesh pants to complete the set.

I'm 6'1" 218 lbs 44 chest 34 arms.. The xl I tried was way too big. Medium too small. I would recommend this jacket.

I've been wearing TourMaster's Flex jacket and pants for several years (I'm on my second set) It's well made and heavy, it simply feels substantial even when stripped down to just the mesh. With the outer rain-resistant liner and the inner fleece liner it's good into the 30's. The rain liner has zippered vents so you can adjust the airflow on coolish days.

My first set is still serviceable after 6 years, New Enough had a closeout on the Flex II version when the IIIs came out so I picked up another.

I got a Scorpion Exo Jacket a few years ago and it is an awesome Winter/Fall/Spring jacket.
A full sleeve liner and a vest liner and a thumb-hole at the end of the sleeve. Weighs about 10 pounds.

Waaayyy too heavy for Summer, I have a Vanson leather and mesh Buell jacket.
Cooler than "no-shirt".

Its a bit more money, but I really like my xmoto jacket and pants. Good all around jacket with pretty good venting for the warmer months. I bought my first Olympia jacket last year (mesh) and i've become a definite fan....

I bought a Joe Rocket Alter Ego 3.0 last December. It features a mesh jacket with all the normal padding plus a textile shell that goes over the mesh. You get a summer mesh jacket with protection plus a cool weather shell and a zip-in vest style liner for additional thermal protection. I especially like it in hot weather. With the shell on in winter it is pretty bulky, but warm enough for what I need (low 30's a few times a year). It also is not nearly as "100% waterproof" as the ads say.

i second the tourmaster flex. i have been using them for several years in all weather & they are great. i went down on an icy curve at about 60mph & didn't get a scratch, but my jacket wore through in a couple of spots. gladly bought another & wear the torn one offroad.

I wear a Tourmaster Transition II jacket in the fall, winter, and spring. Tourmaster Sonora Air jacket in the summer, and Tourmaster Caliber pants year-round. (usually only throw pants on for long distance or bad weather)

I am in love with the Transition jacket, and don't ever see myself buying anything else for the 3 cooler seasons. It fits like a glove with the liner in which is how I wear it all the time. (size small - I'm 5'8" 135lbs, very thin frame) My favorite features are the velcro closures at the wrists which are thin and perfect for wearing gauntlet gloves over the sleeves. I also love a small pocket near the left wrist - perfect for some spare toll change and the key for my XT luggage (inside the pocket is a hook for a key attached to an elastic band so the key doesn't go missing)

The Sonora jacket is cool for summer riding, also a small but doesn't fit as snug as the Transition because I never use the liners. It also doesn't have the handy left wrist pocket, and the wrist closures are just thick enough to make gauntlet gloves uncomfortable. When it's time to replace it (many years from now) I'll look for something that fits a bit tighter without the liner. Or maybe I'll just get fatter by then.

The caliber pants are great for 3 seasons, a tad warm for summer riding but not bad enough to make me want a summer-specific pair of pants. The padding in the butt and hip area is very comfortable for distance riding. These pants and the Transition jacket have proven to be waterproof for a light rain - water does find it's way in between the pants and jacket during a downpour though. These Caliber pants also zip across the back to both my jackets.

If cost is not an object, look at the BMW line of motorclothes.

High quality, high cost.

+1 on the Rev'it! Cayenne Pro.
2 years and over 20,000 miles.
Year round in Portland Or.
Tough stuff.
Use Nik wax to make it damn close to waterproof!

Scorpion Commander. Well vented. Seems well armored (have not teated). Waterproof with liner installed. Good to below 30 in winter (tested) and above 110 (it's a dry heat) in summer (current conditions).

High viz probably does not hurt.
Available in Tall sizes.

i have an older Qlympia Airglide that works good in the warmer months it also has and insulated liner for cool riding.

Also have a Transition II. Great jacket for cool to cold but hotter that a peach orchard boar in the hot humid days of summer.

I saved and saved and saved and bought a Rukka Airoad last fall and I would not own anything else. If moves enough air on a hot day that if feels like your riding in a tee shirt only. On cool mornings I take the insulated liner from my Airglide and have stayed comfortable at 45F.

So if you want the best, save your sheckles and get Rukka. Bikerland.de in Germany has some of the best prices.

Revzilla is running a ridiculous promotion on the revit cayenne pro until 4July. Had I not just bought my olympia pants I would probably jump for these...this price is really hard to beat for new gear:

$389 for the jacket and $285 for the pants

I have a Fieldsheer that is mesh and armor with a removable outer cover and removable waterproof insulated liner. I love it. Bought a few years ago and is holding up very well. Its a bit fiddly to install the outer cover as there are zips at the waist, neck, cuffs and alongside the regular zipper. You cant beat the versatility, very comfortable in the heat and it's good down to the mid forties. Don't believe it cost more than $150.

I just bought a Tourmaster Intake 3.0. Full mesh with a rain liner and vest liner. Nice air flow in the Florida heat.

Man thanks for all the good advice ... now I don't know what jacket I want. Anyway, after looking at all the jackets you all suggested I'm now leaning toward the Tourmaster Sonora in hiviz yellow.

I like the styling of it, and it's really good in hot weather.

I like only having to buy one jacket for 4 seasons. Have been through leather Pilot jacket and pants (heavy, not waterproof, pain having to remove boots each time to go somewhere off bike) Ashman jacket, CG special, wore it all through my Alaska trip, waterproof, cheap, lots of pockets, liner (no venting). Held jacket, better fit, waterproof (no venting either). Roadcrafter, waterproof, vents, (didn't like wearing a sleeper, while seated, could feel the wires of my heated jacket putting pressure on my shoulder, tough to pack into luggage, very bulky). Currently using a Darien set, prefer two piece, vents, adjustable for layering. Easy to remove AD1 pants for commuting. So far, it's the best combo for me.

If cost is a factor. You really can't beat tourmaster/cortech gear. I have a tourmaster jett 2 for temps below 80 and an intake for above. My wife has a cortech lrx for cool and an lrx air for warm. Good quality stuff for reasonable money.

I have the Tourmaster Venture Air jacket and pants and the Transition series 2 jacket.

If I were buying the gear now, I would get the Flex series 3 jacket and pants. They are mesh jackets that have an external zip on textile cover and zip in rain liner and insulated liner. It would work well as a 3 season possibly 4 season jacket in TX.

I would still get a full length jacket, but since I leave up North, it would be the Epic. Since you are in TX, the Transition 2 or 3 would work great.

I've been pretty happy with our first gear stuff but it didn't deter me from stopping at Aerostitch and drooling over the dariens.

For the hi viz colored gear, you might want to consider scotch guarding it before you wear it. It saved mine from getting permanently stained with army worm guts up north this summer. Yuk!

I'd stay away from Olympia. I have an AST jacket that I bought five years ago, I've ridden in the rain, the sun, the fog. I've ridden it in the dust, I've never washed it, I take zero care of it. Today, one of the zipper pulls came off and it took me an entire three minutes to re-attach. Garbage.

I do not think there is a perfect solution for rider wear. Lots of reasons but the main one few mention is the "fit". I have a large collection of bike gear from the same maker and it does not fit the same and even the sizes can be WAAAAY out.
