It had been taken in as a part exchange on a new BMW and had been siting in there showroom for three months without any interest in it at all? Knowing what it was I made an offer and paid a small deposit on it over the phone. To check the VIN and history I made some calls to the original dealer and others about the later bikes. It seems that it was then that everyone become interested in the bike. The BMW salesman was NOT very happy the day I picked up the bike. I really like the new Suzuki it does everything better.   Frank_w Posted on Saturday, June 16, 2012 - 11:23 pm:        i just traded an old harley for a well farkled 2007 dl1000. it's a nice bike, but i wouldn't trade my uly for it. matter of fact, since i've had it i usually walk past it to the uly for a a quick ride. anybody wanna buy a vstrom???   Xb771 Posted on Sunday, June 17, 2012 - 12:03 am:        I guess it just comes down to what you like each to their own. I like that the Uly was made in the USA but thats about it . In the summer in Texas the Uly gets really hot especially in the city while the DL runs cool and alot faster too. if you need some new Uly parts I have a bunch of new buell parts like a tall seat , drive belt ,cables, brake pads ect.   Pkforbes87 Posted on Sunday, June 17, 2012 - 02:03 am:        I'm interested in the belt. 14k on my 09 with the original belt. Heat certainly is an issue with Ulys, and I'm sure its compounded in hot areas (Texas). I am still happy with my Uly, but I'm in a cooler area (Washington). Still, good to hear your candid comparison.
