Two days ago, I was returning from Deal's Gap back to Florida. One leg of the trip was I-95 from SC to FL and I was able to superslab it for 157 miles @ steady 70 mph/ 3,600 rpms. I checked my fuel mileage upon fill-up and was please to see 49.357 mpg!
BTW: I'm running an XB9 primary. The Uly actually get's better fuel mileage than before the primary swap by about 2 mpg. I usually average 41 mpg.

I just got back from a long trip. I tracked all my fuel usage, but haven't had a chance to calculate mileage yet. Normally I get around 40 on my XT, but the last couple of tanks before the trip were unusually bad for some reason. Just based on quick math in my head, I think I was back up into normal mileage range on the trip.

I am finally getting a consistent 45+ out on the road. Over the last 1500 road / trip miles I am averaging right at 47mpg. The bike now has 27K, and I think more miles is more better : ) The bike is now sounding really Briggs @ Strattony or like a bunch of marbles tossed into the engine. I keep starting to worry, but lots of people say this is normal. The bike runs and performs great and the mpg is up, so I'm going with it! City riding is still in the 40-42 area.

I'm 260lbs, and carry a good 40 or more pounds of gear. 2009 XT btw.

Update... 1,352 miles, a little less than 26 gallons of fuel. 52 miles to the gallon! Never went much faster than 80, mostly county roads, back roads, twisties and detours.
Stay out of MA if you don't like detours! Vermont has done an exceptional job of patching up the washed out roads and bridges, Mass is still struggling with lots of the majors and minors closed.

I switched tires this summer from michelin pr2`s to pirelli angels and my milage dropped back to 42-45. I think the overall diameter of the angel is bigger than the pr2`s cause the speedo reads slower since the switch compared to the garmin hence the odo `s not as accurate. with the pr2`s I saw 47 to 50 mpg. Seem to get to work and back as many days as before, just not counting as many miles.

It is. I just put a set of Pilot Power 2CT on my 1125CR, speedo went from 1-2mph off to 4-5mph. Weird part was the old tires were Pilot Race rubbers. Like you noticed, the smaller tires will show a better fuel economy just due to not recording distance accurately.
