Lost all electric on the way home from work today. I was fortunate that no one was directly behind me and was able to coast it off to the side of the Interstate without any drama. No dash indicators, no lights/horn, nothing. Everything was completely dead. Thought maybe the main 30 amp fuse was the culprit.

When I pulled the cover off the fuse box to have a look, I heard arcing inside and the power cycled on and off depending on where I positioned the box. Looks like I've got a wiring issue or a loose contact inside the box.

I was finally able to position the box where the bike would run without cutting out and made it home.

My question is, has anyone taken the fuse box apart? At first glance, I'm not quite sure how to disassemble it without breaking some of the plastic tabs. Figured I would ask here before diving in.

Before you go any further, check the relays. Swap the ign one with the starter one. I bet that solves the problem. Then go buy a few, swap em all out and keep a spare under the tail.

Another test for them (if you can easily duplicate the symptoms): simply place your hand on top of the relays while wiggling the fuse box (or whatever you have to do to hear the arcing). If its relay, you'll feel the clicking in the bad one.
