Hey, thats a road I'm researching for next year's ride! I like it! Thinking about going north from Missoula to St Regis then west to St Maries, Id. along the St. Joe River Scenic Byway.

Used to be my favorite road.
They recently straightened some of the curves and reduced the speed limits. It is also more heavily patrolled now. It still has a lot to offer like spectacular scenery, hot springs and the remaining twisties.
My new favorite road is the hywy that runs north and south on the east side of lake coeur d' lene. Please don't tell anyone about it.

I am planning to go there next week. My wife and I are going to White Bird for a jet boat ride on the Snake River, and towards home on the Lo Lo Pass road - US 12. Thanks Panhead. I now know that I should go on the East side of Couer D'Alene on my way down there.

Did it last year. The Uly eats the miles up real fast. Watch out for the super troopers they can ruin a good day.
