Help. When the bike is hot, it doesn’t want to start like normal. Symptoms: long crank or multiple cranks and when it finally lights, it starts slowly, like it is fuel starved. Then it feels like its stumbles and it wants to die when you pull away in first gear. The bike is fine when it has sat for a long time or if it isn’t up to running temp. Could be a clogged fuel vent or the fuel is boiling and or causing a vapor lock. Next time it is in hot mode when you park it open the fuel cap. Then close it when you are ready to take off. Not a good thing to do often, but it can give some perspective to what is happening. If gas is boiling you could hear it. Of course be careful of flammable fumes! |

Are you running a right side scoop? Your profile says you have the comfort kit. |

I would check the vent also. If you have a california bike be sure your charcoal cannister is full of gas or plugged. |

Where is the vent line? How would you know if the canister is plugged? |

The cannister hoses (if you have the cannister) are marked, I think they say "tank" "carb" I know its not carburated but my memory is failing in my old age. Either way, one goes up to a spot under the intake cover on the far right hand top of the frame, thats the vent. Pull the hose and blow through it, if you meet any significant resistance you may try running it unplugged form the cannister to see if that solves your problem. |

Next time you have this issue, open the gas cap and see if it cures the problem. |

Good idea Froggy, but do it SLOWLY so you don't get a face full. If that doesn't work, most likely vapor lock in the fuel rail, check the insulation wrap and connections. Z |

When's the last time you did a TPS reset, and did you do it with the engine hot or cold? |

Of course be careful of flammable fumes! Like what rises from opened mason jars? |
