After my first 1000+ mile trip on the Uly, I was amazed at the bike. Other than the exhaust actuator breaking (they were still on rev b parts -- plastic), I had no issues with the bike. My experience was amazing, and coming from somebody who had been riding a BMW RT on long distances that's saying something. I made sure the elves and Erik got a nice letter and card from me expressing my appreciation of a wonderful piece of equipment. Somebody asked me if I would ever sell my Uly, I said, Nope... The CR, yes. The BMW RT, maybe, but the Uly, nope. Just that good of an all around machine. Wayne |

I like the look of that Caribou luggage. How has that worked out for you? Did you mount them with the OEM racks? |

Mrs Wind needs to ride her own bike and quit relying on your back seat. Nothing better than when your wife can ride her own. |

MnViking, the Caribou luggage is great. I got the custom racks for them which are very clever and don't leave ugly hoops on the bike when you take them off. Very easy to remove the bags. I am not sure if Caribou still makes the custom mounting racks for the Ulysses or not. They are Pelican cases, so nearly indestructible and very watertight. They do not have as much capacity as the stock Buell bags. I like them a lot for commuting but if I travelled a lot I would go with the Outdoorsman stock cases as they have much more capacity. |

EGlider, Mrs WindRider does ride a little in the dirt but is not comfortable on the highway with traffic. I don't push that... If she doesn't feel comfortable with it or want to go there I am happy to have her along on the pillion. |

Good man, Windrider. One mold certainly doesn't fit all. I think you're much better off having her on your bike but whatever works, whether it's on your bike, on her own bike, or not riding but supporting, is cool. Cool ride report. (Message edited by buellerxt on July 02, 2011) |

There are definitely days I miss having Mrs. Viking on the back rather than on her own scoot. Enjoy them while they last. |

"There are definitely days I miss having Mrs. Viking on the back rather than on her own scoot." Prolly not on those 112 degree days...lol. I'd like to soak my son in ice before he mounts up pilion on those days. Yeah, sometimes we chickees fly the nest and get our own rides. Sorry if some of y'all miss yer backrests, but please cheer these lil birdies on! As long as they are comfy and competent piloting their own rides, it's a good thing...all the way around. |

I probably spend more time cheering Mrs. Vike on if I could catch her. Very heavy wrist that woman has... |
