Anyone know of any solution to raise the footpegs about 3 or 4 inches? I am dragging pegs and ruining my new boots even on mild turns at the speed limit. It is quite freaking annoying, I'd put the XB footpeg mounts on if I wasn't planning on running luggage.

Stop pinching your apexes. Turns are C shaped curves, not V shaped arrows. I very rarely put a toe or a peg down - and I have size 13s...and you've seen me hustle the Uly around. Smooth and steady through the turns.

If that doesn't work, there are some pegs that are adjustable - you can spin the "drop" in any direction and tighten the bolt. Up, down, forward, backwards...put 'em where you want 'em. I think PreEng has some.

Riding the XB again, eh? Coool : )

My XB gets just commuting duty as it gets a few more mpg and a little better on tires than the waterheads.

My issue is ground clearance, as it takes a lot more lean for an X to scrape than my SS. The pegs aren't far off the ground when on the sidestand either. I know Cycle Pirates makes footpegs that can be adjusted up, I doubt they can go up as high as I want. I am looking to make it tight so it is comfortable like the 1125, for some reason I keep hurting my thigh mussels trying to reach the Uly pegs.

That's right...forgot you put Uly stuff on an Ss...

Do you have luggage now?

Get the HB bag supports. Char was just here with Piglet, she's got that setup. I know her bike is a std wheelbase...but a small mod to the rear section of the brackets and they'd go right on, and you can use XB-S footpegs and mounts again. IIRC her brackets mounted to the turn signal holes, and the passenger peg bracket holes. Uly bags will mount right up, just "backwards" with the mounting latch to the rear.

Of course...if you have a Uly tail, you're screwed : )

Another thing to think about is linkage adjustment for pegs that are that high. Might just be easier to go back to the Ss pegs and mounts, and use some throwover soft bags, or modify the bag brackets instead of modifying your foot controls.
