I've had a 009 on the rear for the past 3,000 miles and could not be happier. It's a harder compound than the stock Pirelli, so I'm hoping it will be more puncture resistant in the gravel.

Well this thread certainly generated lots of discussion. I rode mine home last night in VERY HEAVY rain for about 40 miles. They seemed to work very well.
I still need to up the pressures in an attempt to get rid of the hunting.

A "pointy" profile tyre CAN make a bike more twitchy. That is good for the track and fast bendy roads, as you can dive in fast, but not so good for "all-round" riding. They can also "flat off" faster on long straight runs.

My bike came with Scorps. I found it twitchy at 80 mph plus and it was the same with the Corsa 3s. I then fitted PR2s and it still did it until removing the hand guards. Whatever tyre you use, for single rider weight, do not put more than, cold, 36 psi in the front or more than plus 2 psi in the rear. Two-up loading should be sorted via the remote rear pre-load adjustment.

Unfortunately the Uly has the aerodynamic properties of a brick and long forks are not the best for road work. The bike can be sorted though. After some work my bike will now cruise (feel safe) at 120 mph, go round bends like it is on rails, ride over 2 inch bumps/holes without me hardly noticing them and with no nasty/odd problems. Cost? $15 and a little time.

Here is a thought for those who may not know it and may help to understand the Uly.

Even though the Uly was put up for the GS etc market it is in fact another beast. It has the steering angle and wheel base of a GP bike, a close-ish weight of a 1000cc sports road bike and at least the same quality Showa fully adjustable suspension. I ride mine like a sports bike, but set-up for it, and its the best I have ever had and I have had them all.

Well said Uly man. Absolutely nothing like the GS. Scalpel like handling indeed.

The Raven rear is coming off as we speak, can't say that I disliked it but wasn't crazy about it either. It was ok, just shy of 7000 miles and it's shot. One alarming thing for everyone to watch is the separation of the tread when it gets close to the wear bars, scary so make plans to replace it by the time it hits the bars for sure. The Raven cost me 123 bucks installed and id say it was worth it money and i would use it again if I had to but I would look at something else first.
I just got a Conti-Motion rear installed for 130 bucks, any thoughts on this tire? Never used one.
